TREATMENTS:

Remdesivir alone is not enough, researchers conclude in first major Covid-19 trial of the drug

Researchers have finally published the data that led the federal government to recommend the use of the antiviral drug remdesivir in very ill coronavirus patients, and they say the drug alone will not be enough to help patients.

...”Preliminary results of this trial suggest that a 10-day course of remdesivir was superior to placebo in the treatment of hospitalized patients with Covid-19,” the researchers wrote. But it was not a cure and it did not act quickly.

I didnt think that until he slept in the Lincoln bedroom under Bush I.
.
I was so confirmed of that when he, for years, told us how the clintons need to be prosecuted and then when bush got the nod, he came out in one day and did a 180° and told us to give it up.

Dr. Birx asking CDC to investigate 3 coronavirus hotspots: LA, Chicago, DC

As many parts of the country are easing restrictions, Birx requested the CDC work with the metropolitan areas “to really understand where these new cases are coming from and what do we need to do to prevent them in the future.”

...”Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Birx’s assessment isn’t supported by the numbers, WMAQ-TV reported...”Everything is trending cautiously in the right direction,” Dr. Allison Arwady, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, said, while acknowledging Cook County has the most cases in the U.S.”

ABC News Wrap-up

CALIFORNIA - California Gov. Gavin Newsom said he will announce reopening guidelines for places of worship on Monday. Newsom’s comments came just a few hours after President Donald Trump deemed places of worship “essential services.”

CCPVIRUS - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now estimate that about 35% of people with COVID-19 don’t exhibit symptoms, a significant jump compared to what health officials initially thought.

The CDC also estimated that 40% of transmission is believed to occur before the onset of any symptoms...

...Dr. Deborah Birx, coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force, said scientists had initially worked under the impression that around 11% to 15% of cases were asymptomatic.

LONDON -

UK announces new quarantine measures for travelers from June 8
Travelers entering the United Kingdom will have to self-isolate for 14 days beginning June 8, the government announced.

The new quarantine requirements were expected and are an effort to stop a second wave of infections.

LONDON -

Researchers aim to vaccinate over 10,000 adults and children across UK

“University of Oxford researchers testing an experimental vaccine against the novel coronavirus now aim to immunize more than 10,000 people to determine if it works.

Scientists at the oldest university in the English-speaking world began immunizing more than 1,000 healthy adult volunteers in southern England in April with their vaccine candidate in the initial phase of a clinical trial. The University of Oxford announced on Friday that its researchers are moving into advanced studies, which would enroll up to 10,260 adults and children across the United Kingdom.”

INDIA -

India reports over 6,000 new cases in largest single-day jump

Coronavirus Pandemic Update 74: Vitamin D & COVID 19; Academic Censorship

In this video, Dr. Seheult reviews a new article from the Lancet discusses the potential benefit and role of Vitamin D in preventing and reducing the severity of COVID-19. The censorship of academic discussion about studies and peer-reviewed journal articles has become an area of significant concern for medical professionals and those seeking evidence-based information during a pandemic. Dr. Seheult shares his opinion on this type of censorship, and also shares resources for dental professionals preparing to open their practices. (This video was recorded on May 22, 2020)

Coronavirus Pandemic Update 73: Relapse, Reinfections, & Re-Positives - The Likely Explanation

After several reports of COVID 19 reinfections or “re-positives” (a positive test, followed by a negative test, followed by a positive test), there have been lingering questions: Does a COVID-19 infection provide immunity? Is it possible to get the new coronavirus twice? New data from the Korean CDC sheds light on this question and Dr. Seheult illustrates how RT-PCR COVID-19 testing works and what may be happening when a person appears to be reinfected. Also, the first SARS-CoV-2 antigen test has been approved by the FDA. (This video was recorded on May 20, 2020)

We heard constantly making everyone stay at home was causing people to get drunk and beat up their spouses. Heck, last night was the worst night ever for 911 calls for domestic violence. The local cops could barely keep up. It’s just the start of the weekend.

Tourists were on the lake at 7 this morning hollering and playing their music LOUD rattling the windows. Woke every cat and dog in the neighborhood. Tuesday can’t get here soon enough.

Y’all be careful of the after the holiday CV spike.
