“Well, yes, when I do go back to work on-site — sometime within the next few months, I guess — I will take care to wipe off the desk, keyboards and computer mice when I take over from the previous shift.”

That’s always a smart thing. But other than that, I don’t worry much about getting the virus from contact, about the only step that I do take is letting the mail and packages sit for 24 hours and washing my hands after touching anything from the outside.

I’m much more concerned with getting near people who are spewing virons, and I’ll have to make some decisions because the PandaBros at work are making more and more noises about getting things ‘back to normal’.

I don’t think getting back to near-normal is a bad idea. I was hoping we could do it more gradually, but the government bungling at both the federal and state levels, in terms of tests, conmingling of types of tests, getting the unemployment and other relief out in a timely manner, and so on, means basically, as other people have put it on these threads, we are on our own.

The best thing the governors can do for us right now is to get us back open safely and swiftly. Even Governor Wolfbane (PA) seems to be realizing this imperative. On the other hand, Murphy (NJ), Whitmer (MI), Bi-Karen (OR) and Hogan (MD) don’t seem to care that much.

As for work, I could telework forever, since my campus is now requiring masks to work on site. Believe me, I understand their efficacy and will wear them in enclosed public places for the time being, but that doesn’t mean that I have to LIKE them.
