When he was in Japan a month ago, he stayed at a hotel on base. He was told if he left the hotel, he’d be turned over to the Japanese authorities (he’s civilian ). They were not messing around during quarantine.

1. That means all those people from Mass will be back up here depleting our Walmarts.
2. And as I had to do a perishables run today I stopped in at the Walmart and in general it had everything except hand sanitizer, Lysol and anti-viral wipes. Plenty of meat and dairy, produce, etc. Probably 95% of the customers had masks, somewhat fewer had gloves. It really pissed me off, however, that most of the up front employees were wearing their masks only over their mouths. Gonna call customer service and complain.

Back when we had community transmission in NYC and it was the bulk of the cases I would have said somewhere around 20 million infected, maximum, most still incubating. Now that testing is widespread, I would put that number much, much lower, but without universal testing we’ll never have an accurate count.
Depends how crowded the beach is. But yeah, it’s probably not that dangerous.
