“Sitting next to an infected person for 30 minutes to GCS on the metro north is a WAY bigger exposure than brushing past someone in the imported cheese aisle at Trader Joes...Anything you can do to lower your initial viral load and lower the viral load of your surroundings is a win.”
Nice post! Just what I was thinking. So now we have a FaceMaskBro to deal with, who is clueless about viral loading.
this blind gossip item scares the hell out of me because I believe it to be true...and it means either Hillary or Moochie who could be guiding us through the winter Wuhan next year

Rancho Cordova researchers find possible new treatment for COVID-19 [Anti-body research]

Here’s something precious - the clown that Trump removed from BARDA, who was undercutting him on treatment options and screwing up everything else there, and has now hired the lawyers who tried to take down Kavenaugh was appointed in 2016, by Obama.
So, when in 2016? Wound up AFTER the election, mid-November.
An Obama ‘gift’ to Trump, and likely responsible for much of this Coronavirus nightmare.

btw, why would it do that?
“New York antibody study estimates 13.9% of residents have had the coronavirus, Gov. Cuomo says”
Re: 488:
More -
“The results differed across the state with the largest concentration of positive antibody tests found in New York City at 21.2%. In Long Island, 16.7% of the people tested were positive and in Westchester, where the states first major outbreak originated, 11.7% of the tests were positive. The Covid-19 pandemic across the rest of the state is relatively contained with just 3.6% of positive test results. “
“New York antibody study estimates 13.9% of residents “
Is that low as compare to Ca?
I will have to find the estimate for Ca, I am thinking it real high compare to New York.
Heres the latest numbers from earlier today (Thursday) from Minnesota...
Per the Minnesota Department of Health, they are reporting 2942 positive tests for COVID-19, an increase of 221 cases from yesterday (Wednesday).
19 new deaths were reported, raising the statewide total to 200. NOTE: Since COVID-19 stats have been kept in Minnesota, this represents that largest amount of same day deaths in the state.
1536 individuals with positive tests are no longer isolating, an increase of 219 from yesterday (Wednesday).
Between the Department of Health and private labs, a total of 51548 tests have been conducted, an increase of 2204 tests since yesterday (Wednesday).
Currently 268 patients are hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 28 from yesterday (Wednesday). 104 patients are in ICU, an decrease of 3 from yesterday (Wednesday).
The median age of all reported cases is 54. The median age of all hospitalized cases is 65. The median age of all deaths is 83.
Of all cases, 51% are female and 49% are male.
By ethnicity, whites comprise 59% of all cases and 74% of all deaths. Blacks comprise 13% of all cases and 5% of all deaths. Hispanics comprise 9% of all cases and 3% of all deaths. Asians comprise 5% of all cases and 1% of all deaths.

I travel to China a lot in my “supporting the essentials” role as a cargo pilot. My experience at “street” level would indicate that this is far more likely a monumental screw up in the lab gone really bad followed by a massive cover up to try to control the narrative their screw up created, verses a deliberate attempt to deploy a bio weapon.
What is different, is that the CCP would think nothing of sacrificing a few million people to advance their causes, even their people, counting on their ability to control the narrative to cover it up. The problem they are having is the cover up is not going well, which makes them look more like the outbreak was intentional.
The aftermath of this on how we interact in the world will be interesting to watch....

“So since I had multiple people ask me to research N-acetylcysteine (NAC) Lets discuss it.
N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is the medication we commonly use in medicine for tylenol overdose. It works by helping regulate glutamate levels and replenish glutathione. Glutathione is an antioxidant that helps break down free radicals and damage cells in your body. Basically it is an antioxidant that helps the liver get rid of toxins. It was studied in H1N1 influenza with a dose of 600mg twice per day for 6 months. Even though the incidence of influenza was not decreased the severity was significantly decreased. In a one year long study at 600mg twice per day it showed it significantly improved lung function in COPD patients.
NAC is also believed to help increase immune function by restoration of natural killer cell functions. Further in a test tube study, NAC hampered the influenza viruss ability to replicate. Finally, since it regulates glutamate, an important neurotransmitter in your brain it is believed to potentially be helpful with many mental health disorders like OCD, Bipolar disorder, Schizophrenia and even Alzheimer’s disease. So I do think that this is another supplement that we should consider using. It has lots of potential and only minimal side effects.
Lets revisit vitamin D as new information has been released.
A new report in Ireland released about a week ago reviewing multiple studies has some new information on vitamin D in COVID-19. This changes some of the things we have said before. I copied this paragraph as I think it is important. Note that while it makes cytokines in number 4 like we talked about previously. However,in number 5 we see that it decreases the production of pro-inflammatory molecules. Then number 6 showing this may actually help with cytokine storm unlike we previously suspected so this is very good news.
4. Experiments and research has shown that vitamin D can alter the immune system response through its influence on the production and manufacturing of immune molecules known as cytokines (5). Vitamin D has been shown to help signal the increased production of ant-inflammatory molecules and decrease the production of pro-inflammatory molecules (6,7). This switch in immune response in theory may have some potential benefit in cases of cytokine storm a massive release of proinflammation (which has been observed in those infected with COVID (8)) which can cause acute respiratory distress syndrome (9). Importantly, in a large cross-sectional clinical trial (n = 18,883) the risk of respiratory infection increased with lower blood vitamin D levels and the effect was even stronger in those with underlying lung conditions
The conclusion Our people aged 70 and over and we must use all available tools to facilitate the reduction and transmission of COVD-19. Vitamin D is a potent immune modifying micronutrient and if vitamin D status is SUFFICIENT, it could benefit vulnerable adults in particular those 70+ years and older during the COVID-19 outbreak.
