Thanks for the airline update.
I took the voucher when they canceled my flight since it was obvious it was going to be a hassle to get the refund.
I haven’t decided to pressure the airline for a refund yet, but they _really_ don’t want to mess with me if I decide to go that way.
I have made some posts explaining how to get what you want from big corporations—short version, run your own scorched Earth negative PR campaign—and they will more than happy to meet your every wish. ;-)
The low testing has made it completely impossible to intelligently make any sort of projections....very frustrating...I have no clue what is happening in Texas, where the numbers are going, how well mitigation is happening etc—and neither do any fake or real “experts”.
Hospitalization and intensive care rates would be the best proxy, but that data is not readily available at the county or state level.
Deaths of course is a very lagging indicator, probably three weeks or more...
Can you give us a source on the timing of the refund checks, please?
Ack, I said 3 cases here but it’s really 4 that are verified by CDC. If they can’t keep the number right for 4, there’s no way they’re right on hot spots.
UK
THE UK’s death toll has increased by 684 to 3,645 in the last 24 hours, overtaking China’s official tally.
UK Lockdown measures could be lifted by the end of May or earlier according to a top PM adviser.
China has recorded 3,322 deaths to date, but have been accused of fixing numbers.
Confirmed cases in the UK have also jumped to 38,168 - up 4,450 from yesterday’s total of 33,718.
The number of people testing positive for Covid-19 has been rising by an average of 17 per cent per day - suggesting we are no closer to the “curve” flattening.

Hey, just checking in. Did you venture out of your room yet?
The UK numbers are stunning—they blew past the Oxford study’s 250 deaths a day and have not looked back.
The lockdown order did not happen until March 24, so in many ways they are almost a month behind Italy.
I would not be shocked if they start leading Europe in CV deaths day after day after day for several weeks in April and early May.
I was in CVS today and every employee had a mask on with a sign that said due to coronvirus it might take longer to get presciptions due to short staff
I might have walked into a location that had a staffer with it.
Gee thanks
I will be taking my zinc and Quercetin for the next 5 days
is that physical checks or even direct deposit. that has to be just physical checks
A person at our church has it. He’s a nurse. Also a social worker in town
The State Rep that just died was given a malaria drug..perhaps too far in the process of virus replicating

As

His wife also tested positive, as

reported. The coronavirus is also wreaking havoc on the Glanzers extended family as well. 51-year-old Mari Hofer, a teacher at James Valley Christian School in Huron, died suddenly last Saturday.
God Bless those on the front line
I suspect some may end up with a form of PTSD if they survive the War on the Virus.
Divorce Lawyers will also be seeing a booming business from those stuck at home
I appreciate those providing entertainment on the net

I went to my local grocery store shortly after 7am this morning. It opens at 6am but the first hour is reserved for seniors.
Somewhere between 60% to 70% of the customers were wearing something covering their mouth and nose. I was surprised at the number of people who were obviously wearing medical masks. They are virtually impossible to buy locally.
There were also quite a few who were wearing homemade improvisations. One woman even had a sparkly gold scarf wrapped around her face. I doubt it offered her much protection.
As a comparison, I was at the same store last week at approximately the same time, and there just a handful of folks wearing masks.
Thanks—that explains it.
It probably depends on other factors. I’m binge-ing on Zinc, Vitamin D3 with K and Vitamin C so I am ready if the hammer falls.
Fever Tree tonic with Bittermilk bitters added for quinine
You want everyone protecting themselves in some way (even a homemade scarf) to reduce the odds of spreading and reduce the viral load if there is spreading.
Even the worst homemade mask is better than nothing, and in a group setting every little bit helps the group environment.
This is a classic case of “the perfect is the enemy of the good”.
I knew there was a good chance someone, somewhere wouldn't let me on the flight because it didn't match 100%.
So, I tried to get it changed. Apparently Aeroflot is like the one airline you have to change in person or something like that.
I kept getting we can't do it, travel site has to do it, we can't do it Aeroflot has to do it, have to come in person to Miami office to get it done. They even told me at one point, I had to buy a new ticket. $1700
So, for MONTHS, I went on a crusade. Social media, travel message boards, calling, writings.
Eventually, about 4 months later, some PR rep called me and was like, "Look, what do we need to do to get you to stop"
I said change the name on my ticket, I am willing to pay a change fee. I know it's just a matter of a couple of buttons and keystrokes.
She said, "Ok, $40"
I said, here's the payment info.
