Here’s The Food People Refuse To Buy Even During A Pandemic
Daily Caller ^ | March 27, 2020 | Marlo Safi

If eyes are windows to the soul, what was left behind in the grocery stores after coronavirus panic buying are windows to what Americans won’t eat even in extreme circumstances.

People began sharing pictures on social media of what items were left behind after the shopping surge. The foods — such as cauliflower crust pizza or chocolate hummus — and the empty shelves once stocked with more appetizing foods are juxtaposed.

Carrot spirals were unpopular enough that Twitter users from different Trader Joe’s locations shared their pictures of the same stacked up boxes.

Chocolate and buffalo hummus were also left behind, confirming that the flavored hummus debate hasn’t been settled.

Vegan and plant-based can be seen in proportions that appear recently stocked.

For me, the problem is it’s owned by CocaCola.
Same with Aquafina being owned by Pepsi

The second problem is that both are made from PLAIN TAP WATER ...
And the are commercially processed to make them more refined...as in they are not naturally sourced.

“Nobody’s gonna eat that Manhattan clam chowder chit. Not in New England.”

I don’t think anybody eats it. Just the New Yorkers trying to piss us New Englanders off.

I like clams in chowder, but not New England. I don’t like white food much — milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt (gag / ptuy!), etc.

But I never thought of the Manhattan for pasta sauce. Could be good, but I’ve never seen it on the shelf here in TN.

You are not alone!! I like using TP rather than kleenex & had to carry a partial roll of TP on the mower this weekend - nose running like a faucet, watering/itching eyes & sneezing .... allergies & what got stirred up by mowing didn’t help!

I wonder if it depends on the Texas Roadhouse location.

Ours has steaks ready to be grilled and the staff is waiting for folks outside the door.

I’m trying to get my husband to order a few steaks.

He doesn’t like any carryout. Period. No matter where it’s from, so it’s an uphill battle.

That is the best explanation of why they put tomatoes in clam chowder. yuck

Yep. Made fresh shrimp tacos the other night. Family said,” why haven’t we had this before?” I said,” 1 it’s expensive and 2 yall said you don’t like shrimps”.

A taco, by definition, is anything that is put onto a tortilla and then rolled up and eaten.
SHRIMP sounds like an EXCELLENT taco.

Now where did you say you lived???
J.k.

Not really sure, but I bet you wouldn't have any trouble finding Kale Chips, Sardines, or Green Vegetable Juice, in most towns across America, pandemic pandemonium, or no pandemic pandemonium.

AFAIK, it means that Coke drinkers are WAY smarter than Pepsi dweebs. Dasani is a Coke product, Aquafina is Pepsi.

Thanks for the link! I've NEVER heard of, let alone eaten that soup, but it looks interesting.

It's a wee bit like Hungarian lentil soup ( made with Hungarian Kielbasa, which is VERY difficult to find ANYWHERE now-a-days; sadly ),BUT NO, not THE SOUP (that's the way my family has always said it! LOL ) in any way. I'm pretty sure I did send you the recipes, though. It's a beef shanks and veggies soup that not only makes a soup, but also a main course at the same time. And it's VERY healthy and good for you! :-)

Then there are the cold Hungarian soups...cherry, wax beans, string beans, wax and string beans; also an Hungarian form of vicchyssoise, none of which, except for the cherry one, I care for at all. LOL

It should be fine. Maybe it’s overpriced. It’s a Coca-Cola brand. I’m sure it’s the same filtered water that they use as a base for all of their products.

I concur. Even tilapia “made in the USA” is a “downstream product” of the farmed trout industry. The tilapia are fed by what comes out of the trout pond.

Just think about what that means:

outflow from the trout pond. No other feed...

Stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers all use some rice in the recipe. Lobster or shrimp Newburgh, creamed chicken, sauteed chicken livers and onions all go VERY well over a some cooked rice.

If you use chicken stock instead of water, when you cook your rice, it makes a lovely side with any chicken dish. And adding veggies ( rice pilaf ), such as carrots and/or peas to rice, gives you a one pot starch AND veggie side.

It’s a tomato base, there aren’t supposed to be tomatoes in Manhattan clam chowder!

I will have to check through my mail; but did you also send me the Cherry one? We’re coming up on warm weather...

(I had Vichyssoise at a fancy French restaurant, once; and liked it very much.)

Nope, was waiting for warm weather to send you the cold cherry soup recipe. But I’m SURE I sent you the beef short ribs and veggie one. Perhaps I posted it to a Monthly Food Recipe thread? *shrugs*
