She’s getting sicker but has not yet suffered severe respiratory distress, so she’s not in the hospital.
My friend just told me her oldest sister has it. She sounds pretty sick. 103 temp, diarrhea, sore throat.

Considering that in one case the claimant said he had it before it was even here in the US but can’t provide any proof, yeah, that IS what they would do. You wouldn’t notice any of that, I’m sure, because it contradicts YOUR narrative.

I’m hardly a cheerleader for CV. Feel free to go back through all my posts and prove me wrong. I state facts and provide trend analysis, good or bad. When it’s a hypothesis, I am usually clear in saying so. And my predictions of what would actually happen have been pretty close. Biggest miss (IMO): thought it would already be worse in Africa than it is.
But you guys are just stupid and dangerous. Like WWII antiwar protestors. You’ve been wrong on this from day one and some of you couldn’t help but double-down. The worst part of it is you seem to have a casual disregard for the dangers you expose others to. Insouciant knaves, the lot of you.

It’s not the flu and your deliberate out-of-context distortion of that statement shows you know it.
The flu is endemic. It’s everywhere, you can’t contain it, only try to mitigate it. We have some herd immunity and vaccines. So we have made efforts there, we don’t just let it run free. Nevertheless it kills 0.1% of the people who get it.
CV is not endemic. Relatively few people have been exposed to it so far, and we’re trying to keep it that way. Each case is a new exposure. No vaccine. No immunity. It kills 1% of the people that get it, even with the entire resources of a country focused on containment and mitigation. That’s ten time the rate at which the flu kills. In places where it got out of hand it kills 1 in 12 of the people that get it, once the HCS collapses, like in Italy. The part of Italy where it happened had the best HCS in Europe. Our HCS could not handle a sustained flood of cases. NY and WA are already struggling. Keeping the volume low allows us to focus resources on hotspots, but if spreaders ignore the rules and wander around, we’ll get too many to handle.
We can’t contain it, but we can slow it down to the point where it doesn’t crash our HCS. Then maybe when you go to the hospital for that heart attack or stroke or infection you might get some help rather than just dying alongside the CV victims.
The reason we have only 250 deaths so far is because of the restrictions you are so whining about. If it were up to people like you, we’d be Italy.
That’s what this is all about, and spouting side by side comparisons with the flu is pretty much recognized as misdirection and Panda Propaganda.
This is a war. Join the war effort. On the human side.

Did I hit a nerve? You are, in fact, promoting a dangerous perspective that *has* already killed people (NY cases largely linked to a person that chose to ignore the travel restrictions, for example). If that is your actual intent, then I suppose it isn’t stupid, just evil.
What I am advocating is that people be prepared to survive during the restrictions, lockdowns, quarantines, etc., that are already occurring here and that we saw coming FOR TWO MONTHS. Nothing I am doing is destroying any lives or virtually killing anyone, but what you are advocating is really killing people.
When this is over the number of dead will be much lower than it would otherwise have been, in spite of you and the other dangerous and stupid spreaders.

Do you really believe that a virus from anywhere in the world would not show up in New York City within a week? a month? I can tell you that not only does the virus show up in New York City, so does patient zero, their family, and most of their relatives.
Why has Apple reopened all their stores in China since March 12th?
Where are the Center for Disease Control satellite locations in transportation hubs?
Where are the bio-suited technicians testing surfaces for this coronavirus?
It can't be cost that would prevent that effort - they're asking for a trillion dollars. It can't be lack of possible findings as there hundreds of thousands of commuters and tourists going these hubs each day. They could get a very clear picture of the bacteria and viruses spreading throughout the place just by swabbing Slappy and Stinky who've been rolling around on the floors all winter.
The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) proudly reported that they were so concerned about riders' health that they were going to clean every subway car at least once every 72 hours. Once ... every ... 72 ... hours. We're talking about cleaning a car, not overhauling it. Yeah, they thought once every 72 hours was a good enough political statement to say they're doing something for the millions of riders every day. This statement also showed that they had no idea how often riders believed the cars were being cleaned. If coronavirus would lead the MTA to declare with pride that they were going to clean the subway cars once every 72 hours, how often were they cleaning previously?
Why did Amtrak report they discontinued the NY to DC Acela train due to coronavirus but you can still take a regular Amtrak train anywhere in the country, including from NY to DC?
Were there special Coronapeople who rode that train? Or was it just an excuse to shut down a costly line with declining ridership?
Why is there an absence of quantifying the numbers of those who have overcome the coronavirus?
Why won't they report who beat it and how they did it? Good genes? vitamin D? Mom's chicken soup? bat soup? colloidal silver? whiskey? Who knows - they'll never put a camera and microphone in front of someone who beat it.
There are an increasing number of individuals reporting having had Wu-Flu symptoms in December, January, and February, without knowing what it was. Many sought help and their doctors missed the diagnoses. These individuals look back now and realize the symptoms fit perfectly.
Why do the reports of fatal cases avoid or bury any mention of comorbidity? While any virus could be a contributing factor, in how many cases was it a sufficient factor or the only factor in their death? Yes, the coronavirus may have tipped the scale but in the patient's condition would food poisoning or a common cold have done the same?
Why are reports of any other type of death being suppressed from media reports? They won't even squeeze in a good shark attack story while this is going on.
Has anyone seen the WEEKLY fatal shooting numbers from Chicago?
On a relate note, Jussie Smollet barely escaped with his life once already but I think he has better chances against the Kung-Flu. If Jussie could breathe with a noose around his neck while running away at full sprint from the rarest creatures in the world - two white muggers in Chicago, mucus in his lungs from a coronavirus wouldn't make him miss a step.
How many of these deaths are adverse effects of medical treatment? "I'm not saying my patient died from my incompetence, no... they died from the coronavirus. Next patient please!"
If going to the movies or restaurants where everything can be sanitized is considered bad, why is going to a supermarket that's had hundreds of people handling merchandise okay?
Why is there no discussion of the trade war with China?
China needed leverage in a trade war to stop their decline but couldn't order a factory slowdown without exposing their intent and facing repercussions. They took a yearly outbreak and used it as an excuse to shut down production.
U.S. states that have missed out on the economic surge under Trump since 2016 (California, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut, etc) jumped at the chance to double down and use this to force the U.S. taxpayers to fork over one trillion dollars of a "stimulus package" to pay for THEIR bankruptcies.
These states don't care if they adversely impact the U.S. economy - they haven't been a part of it since 2016 and show no signs of being able or willing to join it in the future at all.
These failed states couldn't make a go of grievance industry economics, illegal immigration and sanctuary city economics, nor legalized marijuana economics and have this as their only option to deal with their decades of failure, especially their unfunded pensions. This isn't the end of their attempts either, rather it's only the beginning of this next tier of extremism. They have no recourse other than taking from citizens of productive cities and states. None. This is just a step somewhere on a path prior to the use of force.
The near future after this will be interesting. Not thinking it through, the agenda-ists are going to have to spin hard to undo what this Chinese Virus will do to their other pet causes. Much like Global Cooling... no, Global Warming... no, Climate Change! -yeah, that's it, they're going to see their previous lies come back at them.

I would not call it a hoax. It is real. What this situation is, is it is over-hyped and exaggerated.

Kind of ironic - we know that the Deep State and others use fear as a way to steer and control the people - we had the commie/nuke war threat until the Berlin Wall came down then it wasn’t viable anymore and up pops Globull Warming, which has many in fear that we’re gonna destroy the Earth even as we do less harm than past generations and none of the data actually supports anything but the earth’s climate and Mother Nature do not now, and never did have a “balance” and even if they did, we have no idea of how to maintain one or ‘fix’ things...all our efforts end up causing more harm....the coronavirus scare is no different - the panic-induced knee-jerking will cause more harm than the virus.
Folks who would be up in arms if the government decided to tell them they could not move freely are now begging that same government to lock them, and everyone else, down....I’d wager if, after doing that, the story ‘evolved” they would also go meekly to barb-wire surrounded camps/tent cities because the “latest info” said that’s the only way to stop it. Even though we know that they use fear to guide and control us, so many can’t see it through the red haze of insane panic....they not only welcome the government controls, they beg for them...
And the fear mongers will try to leverage it...
