The real culprit is the press pushing their hate-filled agenda in an attempt to get President Trump.

Not to mention that these brothers clearing the shelves of sanitizer over a two state area very well may have made the panic worse. It is a well established fact that when a consumer sees shelves empty of a critical item, they will almost invariably buy more of it than necessary when they do find it - and that perpetuates the shortage - and hence panic.

“Basically, they created an illegal monopoly by buying all available in a large area. These guys didn’t source from manufacturers, that’s why I finally decided to put them in the jerkoff bucket. I’m fine with producers raising prices when demand increases. That allows them to pay for overtime and increase capacity.
But these guys... they didn’t provide anything of value except create an artificial scarcity. Imagine if they did this with baby formula. “
Well said.

“If the market runs out of .22 cal ammo and my neighbor has 500k rounds, can the authorities raid his home?”
If someone has half a million rounds of any caliber ammo they are liable to get raided by the cops as is.

Based on what law, or doesn’t that matter to government toads like you?
To: jhastey
What if my ‘neighbor’ had half a million dollars in a safe - would you advocate raiding that too?

Well, there goes my plan of selling off a few rolls of toilet paper at a profit.
If the economy completely collapses, and the fed starts printing a vigintillion dollars of fiat, and a loaf of bread costs a billion, will they come and arrest us for selling gold or silver at whatever price someone is willing to pay for it?
(Yes, Yes, they will And FReepers who didn’t prepare for the situation will cheer for the jackbooted thugs )

They may be aholes for hoarding this stuff but this is a free market economy. And another thing to those bitching about hoarding...why dont those idiots bitching about these people go to store rise up early get in line in the first place??? You simply got beat or were too lazy to go to the store before everyone else..
Laws are instituted among men in part to protect people from those would abuse them for profit in extraordinary times of dire need. In a lawless society you are welcome to steal my belongings and make me your slave, too... Unless I get to you first.

After a certain point of SHTF, paper money becomes worthless paper.
A half million rounds of ammo needs careful storage to keep it from becoming a hazard in an emergency.
In a fire, it could become hazardous to emergency responders and others nearby
It could also make the property owners and others nearby a target of theft, robbery or other crimes by criminals intent on taking it by force.
Those trying to defend these two just give Republicans a bad name. They cleared out every store in an extended area of these items - thus preventing others from being able to purchase them - all so they could make upwards of $65 profit per item.

Thanks - as a former Weapons Officer on a billion dollar Cruiser, I had no knowledge about safe storage of explosive material.

In the United States of America, there is no “Black Market” in goods purchased from retailers with appropriate taxes paid.

I disagree. You are assuming people are generally good. Remember the titanic ? A noble male insisted in seating with the females in the last lifeboat? We do have our share of idiots and its your fault for assuming a vast amount of people would give a damn about “ fairness”
Life lesson..

I do my grocery shopping on wednesday nights because i hate crowds on the weekends. It was already a madhousr in a typical quiet no line up night..
Why are people so PROGRAMMED to do their groceries on the weekends? Will it kill you to finish your groceries for the week on a week night? I dont get it..
