Tom Wolf has ordered all restaurants and bars in Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to close.
HARRISBURG, PA Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf on Sunday ordered all restaurants and bars in Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties to close their dine-in facilities as of Monday. The measure, in place for 14 days, is being taken to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.
"Businesses that offer carry-out, delivery, and drive-through food and beverage service may continue to do so, but eating and drinking inside restaurants and bars is temporarily prohibited," an announcement from the governor said.

Breaking: WA state has closed dining in, takeout and drive through only.
I’m wondering how long food service industry can keep their doors closed? This stuff going on doesn’t seem like its economically sound.
A bunch of unqualified, unfit and useless political hacks posturing to feel important.
I am no fan of the abortion-loving Tommie (”the Commie”) Wolf as that moniker should clearly indicate....
BUT...
his measured County-by-County approach is much better than the one-size-doesn’t-fit-all edicts issued by many of his fellow state execs.
Hope DJT recognizes that and praises his example during tomorrow’s conference call.
Its probably the population density driving this. Allegheny County is Pittsburgh, right?
Huge over reaction. The numbers are down in South Korean and China. In two weeks we will be talking about something else.

No, I don’t believe this is a measured response. Just look at the facts.
Yes, it’s Pittsburgh. I’m not sure if it has to do with pop density. We’ll see.
> Its probably the population density driving this. <
You would think so. But why then is Philadelphia not included in the governors order?
Just checked. It’s not pop density. Philadelphia county has more positive cases than Allegheny and Philadelphia is definitely more dense. (That’s a pun as well.)
Yes, Pittsburgh is Allegheny county.
Thats a good point. I forgot that Philadelphia is its own county. I keep thinking its part of one of those neighboring counties.
Biden is going to have a field day in a month, when the unemployment claims jump to 8%.
“Biden is going to have a field day in a month, when the unemployment claims jump to 8%.”
At this rate, 8% unemployment in a month would be a miracle.
it isn’t, it is ruinous, esp. to smaller businesses.
no country voluntarily shuts off its economy at this level. but china did it, then italy did it, and now the entire western world is following suit.
you end up with a near-binary choice on analysis -
1) this isn’t that bad and ‘the motives for all these (adversarial) countries all gutting their economies are ulterior
2) this is worse than anyone is saying openly.
another data point - the vegas strip is effectively shutting down. wynn already announced, I have seen references to MGM doing so and fully expect them and caesars to early this week.
these are smart companies that exist to make money, literally.
