1. I think they are hoping it weakens as summer gets here
2. Maybe is a rolling type of scenario. They know everyone wont stay home. So those will get it that are predisposed

As some one with many of those maladies at one point or the other, I was more bothered three weeks ago. Knowing this was coming allowed me to get my head around it.
I have a sense of calm and peace.
I actually stopped my wife in the corner of the grocery store on Saturday and had her just look around and watch. From an observation point of view.
It was a scene out of a book. It was something I could only imagine prior to this. It was not hysterical. It was not panic. But it was “determined” and frustrated.
I really believe those of us who have been watching since before Christmas could be standing there with me...with their arms folded...just watching.

What the public officials (other than Cuomo) are afraid to say is that almost all hospitals nationwide are about to get _crushed_, regardless of how flat the curve is.
This is about making sure our body counts don’t look like Iran (i.e., mass graves, not the numbers Iran is lying about...).
If the health care system totally collapses, then the millions of people with every _other_ disease, whose lives are routinely saved by our outstanding medical professionals, will get added to the body count.
_That_ is what this is about.

I spent a bunch of time (a while ago) studying the effects of a nuclear attack from the Soviets. Even at its worst, Coronavirus is a walk in the park compared to that. I think these people never studied what nukes could do (particularly the Soviet arsenal) and are just finding out that there are really BAD THINGS that can land in this country...and really can’t deal with it, so they try and try to ‘rationalize’ it all away...and then blame those who can deal with Coronavirus objectively, for all their fear.

Amazing how people are so predictable, it is such a lesson and shows how we are all susceptible to digging in and blaming others instead of adjusting to facts.
All the more reason to plan, because you can’t rely on others to do it for themselves, much less you.
I have been around a long time and never had flu that felt like I was being stabbed by ice picks....
not sure why the nurse thought it was the flu. Perhaps I have been very lucky not to have those symptoms
