A mix of legacy drugmakers and small startups have stepped forward with plans to develop vaccines or treatments that target the infection caused by the novel coronavirus.
COVID-19, which was first detected in December in Wuhan, China, has sickened more than 100,000 people worldwide and killed at least 3,400. There are no Food and Drug Administration-approved vaccines or therapies for the disease.

In the U.S., the companies that are initiating development have received funding from two organizations: the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), which is a division of the Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a division of the National Institutes of Health. Some companies have received funding from Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), a global organization based in Oslo. Other companies are funding trials by themselves or through partnerships with other life sciences companies.
Here are some of the companies developing treatments or vaccines in the U.S. for COVID-19:

Frankly, I think the vaccines are being rushed, and I would not be among the first ones to get them.
Announce a $5 Billion prize for the first vaccine that is discovered to work with no detrimental side effects.
Divide the sick into 9 groups, and ask them if they are willing to be part of vaccine trials, only catch is they cant sue for anything that goes wrong.
Track the progress on how well it works. After 30 days, publish the results. Screw this placebo double blind crap and FDA certification. Start ramping up production immediately once a winner is determined. Get things back to normal.

Let private businesses work on this.
Keep government agencies out of it.
My opinion.
These companies had better step lively. Because once President Sanders takes office next year, he will tax and regulate the pharmaceutical companies out of business.
Then all the new life-saving drugs will have to come from...well, by golly I just dont know.
“Frankly, I think the vaccines are being rushed, and I would not be among the first ones to get them.”
Expected delivery sometime next fall.
Exactly how much longer should we wait?
Correction: Fall of 2021!
Well, I am not very trusting anymore of any gov’t run operation. 2 years is probably rushing it compared to what the regular times are to vet drugs. (too lazy to google it).
Probably many more than 100,000 have gotten the coronavirus but their symptoms were no worse than a cold so they never sought treatment.
Most likely.
I just can't see a nation of 300+ million highly-mobile and social people having several hundred confirmed cases. It doesn't add up.
Big money’s a flowin. $8.3 billion to be exact
Did Israel have one that was “weeks” away ? What happened to that?
” 2 years is probably rushing it compared to what the regular times are to vet drugs. “
You are one of the few that ‘regular times’. are not too long.
If they already have the virus the vaccine is useless.
You’re talking about treatments. Different animal altogether.
The last SARS vaccine nearly killed its recipients when they were challenged with the virus.
No vaccines. Colloidal silver !
Kind of like the flu vaccine that comes out every year. Never
