Novartis AG NVS announced that it will provide up to 130 million doses of generic hydroxychloroquine to support the treatment of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
There’s an old graveyard in Terlingua Texas, very out of the way place even now. The graveyard has so many graves of entire families that dies of the Spanish flu. Even without the globalization we have now, it hit remote places.

In my twitter checking, I’m picking up stories from doctors about the hydroxychloroquin/azithromycin combo working. Some doctors working on covid19 patients are taking it for themselves when feeling symptoms like breathing issues and it’s helping them.
Phil Bak, a ceo (@philbak1), tweets: “Family friend, healthy male about 65 or 70, was about to go on ventilator last night for covid at NYC hospital. They gave him the new drug cocktail (hydroxychloroquine and whatever else), woke up this am breathing easily and no fever. Firsthand story.”
Combo is finding success with patients in India and Bahrain now. It doesn’t always work though. I check on twitter accounts of two NYC specialist doctors in the same hospital. Both were virus positive and started on the combo but got worse. One was given other drugs and recovered enough to be discharged. The other is still deteriorating and they’re trying to get the Israeli drug remdisvir for him. As long as the drug combo works for some, it’s better than anything else so far.
Ending with some good news: FEMA has delived the first shipment of 2000 ventilators to a NYC warehouse. 2000 more on the way. More protective equipment (PPE) also headed their way. This info is from @FEMA_Pete, Pete Gaynor the FEMA director’s account.
