"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.
When you are awake, you are able to clearly see.
The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Trust and put faith in yourself.
You are not alone and you are not in the minority.

The deep state has controlled the MSM from top to bottom for decades. They control individual ‘journalists’ through payoffs via Project Mockingbird. Those who aren’t bought are kept in line through group think and intimidation from their peers and management if they begin to stray from the controlled narrative. But behind the scenes, these news organizations have been controlled at the top. I’m not sure exactly how - whether through outright ownership as with Bezos and the Washington Post, or by blackmailing top executives.
The awakening of the media won’t happen on its own. It will only happen when the CEO’s are brought to submission and when the individual mocking bird “journalists” are exposed and hopefully indicted. Perhaps the Q team has already started to force the CEO’s into submission behind the scenes.

Other times I am rather well caught up. My work schedule is definitely a factor in all of that.
