Albany, N.Y. (WHAM) - Two New York State legislators are planning to launch a effort to determine the causes behind the state's population loss.
Federal estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau show New York has lost 76,790 people from 2018 to 2019 - making it the fourth largest state in the country. This also makes the fourth straight year of a population decline for New York.

Too little taxes, not enough gun control and not enough socialism
Clueless NY politicians ping.
The place smells like urine 24/7.
*sigh*.
Some days there’s just no winning........
And you did not even need to add /s.
Why are they leaving?
There has got to be some serious money involved for lawyers to do the survey, nobody is that stupid.
.
Bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
If only more Democrats could be elected to offices in NY they could finally get the State turned around.
They need more Cuomo and deBlasio!
It’s as plain as the nose on Tedescos face. Gamesmanship for reelection I guess. More of our friends are leaving every time I turn around. I am not staying, Myrtle Beach as soon as I can.
That's NYC you're smelling.
Upstate NY is beautiful and used to smell like cow manure. We lost the cow farmers. :(
Lawmakers are stupid. NY is overregulated, overtaxed. Why wasted money on surveys?
Keep the list a manageable size and ask why they stay.
Why leave NY?
Rediculously high taxes.
Horrific business climate.
Crony Unions.
Corrupt government at every level.
Middle class jobs cant afford middle class lifestyle.
Failing schools.
Barriers to recreational activities.
Overrun with Illegals crowding schools, taking up rentals and entry level homes.
US Constitution doesnt exist.
Votes diluted. And on and on and on . ..
The list is truly endless.
... The place smells like urine 24/7.
Sort of like the French Quarter in New Orleans
These nerds must have an industrial strength case of dumb.
Ping for your interest :)
Let NYers deduct their property and school taxes on NYS income tax returns would be a good start.
They are seriously asking this question? Really? Most of our politicians are truly clueless.
No one paying attention would have to ask this question. Never mind to plan on convening a panel after receiving the results of the survey.
Can they not read? Are they unable to comprehend the results of a simple (and wholly unnecessary) survey?
The more one is exposed to politicians the less respect one has for them. Alas, they are a reflection of their constituency.
