Thought it may be a good idea to have a place to follow all the fast moving events in one place
updates coming in fast
Jane Long - thanks for that summary, and I reposted on another thread with a courtesty ping to you and link to your comment.
Based on the latest info, I think I just saw Mother Abigail in a dream.
I would like to know why the hell Russia is saying Good Night America in tweets.
There is some funky weirdness going on right now
And yes, China could be about to claim the US had a bioweapon since that guy in Chapel Hill was researching China Bat/Sars and claim we released it on them.
“HOLY MOTHER OF GOD - the new coronavirus is a 3.8!!! How bad is that reproductive R0 value? It is thermonuclear pandemic level bad - never seen an actual virality coefficient outside of Twitter in my entire career. Im not exaggerating... #WuhanCoronovirus #CoronavirusOutbreak”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What do those numbers mean, in layman’s terms? Does that mean each person who gets it infects 3.8 people?
Thanks (or, not...😱 😳)
So if this is real bad, then relatively soon it should be epidemic in Beijing and Shanghai.
Worst then the 1918 Spanish Influenza outbreak.
I am prepping now...... I am stocking up on supplies first thing in the morning. I have most of the basics, just need more food for the house.
I highly recommend prepping, if it does not happen you will have food for a couple of months.
I thought so, my study of flu stuff years ago sort of kicked in.
I’m pretty good but a lot of holes to fill in. Will make list. Fresh vegies can’t be stocked up, sadly.
that tweet has me a little shook up. clearly they are trying to indicate a dead naked body floating in water. ALthough in reality it just might be someone drunk floating in water...but that is not their reference. And then to say Good Night America from an official embassy twitter account.
WTF???
I hope somebody in DC is trying to figure out what is going on...and I don’t mean the type of ego driven State Dept members we saw testify.
“Unprecedented Chinese quarantine could backfire, experts say”
Will have to look for the tweet....curious to see replies.
tell us your synopsis after your done. Apparently, they have done it multiple times
This is from an industrial isopropyl alcohol manufacturer..
Why Is 70% the Most Effective Concentration of Isopropyl Alcohol for Disinfection?
Isopropyl alcohol, particularly in solutions between 60% and 90% alcohol with 10 40% purified water, is rapidly antimicrobial against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Once alcohol concentrations drop below 50%, usefulness for disinfection drops sharply. Notably, higher concentrations of alcohol dont generate more desirable bactericidal, virucidal, or fungicidal properties.
I actually have 90+% isopropyl but effectiveness may be little more than 70% solution.
Eyes are crossing, so time to turn in.
Thanks for all of the info posts.
No, the Chinese response makes complete sense if one looks at that simulation of a theoretical but not particularly unusual naturally occurring & rather similar coronavirus that ends up killing 65 million people.
Take that and have it pop up in, instead of rural Brazil, a large Chinese metro area that’s also a major transportation hub, right before CNY, when half the freakin’ country will be travelling. (Well, less will be travelling now!)
One other thing: Of what we know (or pretty much think we know) so far, there is no characteristic of this virus that is exceptional. The fatality rate, if it holds at 3%, is rather high, but we’ve certainly seen higher, even in the last 100 years (a blip in human history). The difference now is the number of humans available to be infected, very efficient global transportation, and, China in the last generation has built a VERY impressive internal transportation system, compared to what existed previously.
