SpaceX launches 60 new Starlink satellites, sticks rocket landing at sea

Today’s launch is part of SpaceX’s goal of connecting the globe with its Starlink network. Each satellite is identical, weighing in at roughly 485 lbs. (220 kg), and is part of a larger network that aims to provide internet coverage to the world below. With this launch, it brings SpaceX’s burgeoning constellation up to 240, making it the largest in orbit to date.

Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO and founder, has said the company will need at least 400 satellites in orbit to provide minimal coverage, and at least 800 to provide moderate coverage. With this launch, the private spaceflight company is over halfway to the minimal coverage mark and says service could begin sometime this year. When that happens, the first places to receive coverage would be portions of the U.S. and Canada

The only advice I have is to stay out of places where there are large crowds.

It seems a little premature to be stocking up on food and water but if it makes a person rest easier they should do it.

Those that we are flying in from Wuhan are going to a base in Riverside, CA.

It is not known yet whether they will be housed on the base or taken to a near by hotel for quarantine.

I still have my cough too, just hangs on.

Must be getting better as I’m not stuffing in the cough drops anymore.

The key to understanding Trump’s plan is knowing who he’s selling it to.

Previous peace plans were aimed at both Israelis and Palestinians – specifically to more moderate and compromise-minded sections of those two peoples. Trump’s plan is intended for an entirely different clientele: right-wing Israelis, right-wing American Jews and, particularly, Trump’s base of evangelicals.

But that’s not all: the Trump plan offers something even more worthwhile for its prime audience. After all, the chances of actually delivering on de facto annexation are slim. Netanyahu or Trump may not be in power long enough to implement any of the plan. They may not even want to, but instead just virtue signal the “deal of the century.”

Over at CTH, I’ve been swapping posts with a fellow who, like me, saw impeachment as inevitable and “required” in the course of Trump presidencies. In my case, because the DEMs just have to get even for Clinton, if nothing else. The other fellow speculates this impeachment is a Trump op. Trump dangled “Biden” and “Crowdstrike,” knowing the snakes in the NSC would not be able to resist. This way he picks the impeachment turf.

Trump will emerge from this stronger than he was before. It’s all good.
