Any sorting is done intending to maximize the impact of the overall process. It does make sense to combine similar questions. I assume this process is already done for today's set of questions.

Leadership won't shut out any senator. That would be trouble, and the censored senator would make a major fuss over being shut out.

Look as much for what sort of questions are avoided as what questions are asked. Today should have the most pointed questions, giving tonight to compose and organize questions aimed at clarifying or getting to the point that was dodged today.

I assume our house guys are working with the senators to come up with questions. The house guys know where the bodies are buried.
