Colin Kaepernick may not have an NFL job, but the social activist and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is proving he's still marketable as his new $110 Nike sneaker bearing his image sold out within minutes of its release on Monday.
Nike sold the shoes at its own stores, select retailers and via the SNKRS app. The sneakers can be acquired for resale, but one website, FlightClub.com, is asking as much as $950 for a pair.
Some retailers have agreed to donate profits to charities supported by the outspoken Kaepernick.
Nike has not released sales figures, but the Air Force 1 x Colin Kaepernick, which has his black-and-white likeness emblazoned on the back, is currently unavailable in North America, according to multiple reports.

I have wide feet and buy New Balance...plus they are more conservative (dont remember why)
Honestly, don’t think there is enough cash flow in these shoes to warrant the effort.
I am more thinking that someone will use money intended for groceries or rent.
The shoes will not hold value, so bad idea
Bad for the football business - great for the preposterously overpriced sneaker business. Looks like he found his calling.
“So do white liberals.”
If you check history, they were the masters in the south and purchased as many as they could to get voting control in the federal government. They, also, in mass, voted against the Equal Rights Amendment in the 60’s. Something about old dogs.....

I have a young black man in my family. When he was in his late teens early twenties he was big into tennis shoes. Like dozens of pairs of tennis shoes. Now that he is older twenties not sure if other things have taken priority.
No fools, we! :-)
a fool and his money
Hate Kaepernick. And the company is cynical as hell. But owning NKE stock, like baseball, “has been berry berry good to me” to over the years. It’s a business that sells sneakers using whatever means necessary to separate the “youths” from their parents’ money.
The joke is on them. It is bad for business where normal people with real moral principles are the customer.
Not so much with Leftist douchebags who line up to buy those things.
Not only is there a market for expensive Kaepernick sneakers, but there is a huge demand for illegal drugs and the most perverse pornography. The Democratic Party does not exist in a political, cultural or social vacuum. The Democratic base is a significant percentage of the population. So far the decents outnumber the decadents but for how long?
I wonder how many non-criminals have any interest in shoes featuring this traitor. My guess? Zero.
“Fools and their money”
Fools and(other peeps money) their money, Over & Out
I reserve my contempt for the people who promote these fads, knowing those most likely to purchase are often those with the least ability to do so.
As I’ve posted here before, our social pathologies can largely be blamed on white liberals who crafted the welfare state and ushered in the destruction of the black family. And trash fast food is marketed heavily to people of lower economic means. Throw in housing built in bad areas, maybe with lead in pipes and construction materials, cheap illegal narcotics, rap etc and you’ve got the makings of some real problems.
Just think how much money they could be making if they respected this country. Nike is a label that is dead to me and I am sure many others. My gain and Skechers and Nike loss.
$950 a pair is an “asking price”. How many have they sold at that price? One can ask for one price, but finding a buyer is another thing. I’ll bet there’s a lot of haggling going on!
Why? It's just business.
Because businesses, like individuals, should conduct themselves ethically.
They use slave labor so the price of manufacture is probably less than $1.
I read recently that Nike was only going to produce a very limited number of these ghetto shoes, probably for the purpose of creating a media buzz of “sold out” and demand.
Just a marketing ploy targeting the low IQ crowd.
Best snickers I ever bought were “Sketchers Sport”.
Most comfortable, most durable. Comparable to my 1977 Chevy Malibu V8-Automatic, I could not wear it out, Never needed a single repair for 150k miles, but Chicago salt on roads took it’s toll and it began to look ugly after 8 years, so had to buy a new replacement.
anyone know what the True to 7 meaning is? I presume some SJW BS.
