I have a young black man in my family. When he was in his late teens early twenties he was big into tennis shoes. Like dozens of pairs of tennis shoes. Now that he is older twenties not sure if other things have taken priority.
I reserve my contempt for the people who promote these fads, knowing those most likely to purchase are often those with the least ability to do so.
As I’ve posted here before, our social pathologies can largely be blamed on white liberals who crafted the welfare state and ushered in the destruction of the black family. And trash fast food is marketed heavily to people of lower economic means. Throw in housing built in bad areas, maybe with lead in pipes and construction materials, cheap illegal narcotics, rap etc and you’ve got the makings of some real problems.
