So as a webmaster I am curious who has more than one username and account here? Webmasters and admin need at least two, and two different email addresses so that they can test the script from the user side. I am guessing that Jim and John have acquired many more than that over the years so that they can cruise around under the table with discussions. But I am very curious how many here have more than one as to assume different personalities as the situation requires in their agenda? I am one of those who has only owned one username on every board I have haunted and take my licks as that only one personality. How about you? Just curious. :)
ONE
Bkmk names
That is what I always heard so never even thought to have another. lol The site is too important to me to chance getting banned!
Oh, I am not naive enough to not suspect that it goes on here as well as other boards. It does sadden me a bit, however, that it would be rampant on a board of “Conservatives”.
Honor, integrity, personal responsibility and the like.
But like I said I am too old to not expect the worse from a percentage of people.
No, I am Spartacus.
For an honest bear who is a fan of the Highlander: There can be only one.
One.
I post my other net-name in my tagline.
I’m the dark matter of the forum.
I know the feeling,
I get so angry
I kick My
Own Butt!
lol, well done... point taken. :) But if I was here for nefarious reasons other than being a village idiot you would never know. Seriously, I used to root these guys out on boards and they were not at all obvious and very hard to catch. Most of it was subliminal and very hard to detect. I actually got pretty good at it. But without the server logs and IP’s it was absolutely impossible to put 2 and 2 together. :)
The better question is, how many have changed their handles and what was it before they changed it.I swear I see handles with sign up dates from the early 2000’s yet don’t ever recall seeing them back then. That my dear friend is a good question.
Only 1...Same as my sign up name
Mid 70’s - I remember it well. Back then we had to hand carve our IP addresses from chunks of wood.
Let’s just say, hypothetically, that someone created a screen name on January 5, 2000, and then created a new screen name later because he was too ignorant to ask the owner to just change his old screen name and save his seniority date.
Now this hypothetical FReeper would like to have this hypothetical screen name remain until at least January 5, 2020, so that he can post a lame vanity saying “Hey everybody, my split personality and I are 20 years old today!”
How about it, huh?

“how many have changed their handles and what was it before they changed it”
Funny you should ask.

We lost quite a few with the crevo threads. I miss people on both sides.
You make a very valuable point here and may not have even know how important it really is. When someone pops up again every 2-4 years with heavy use during an election cycle and has had absolutely no board activity at all in between, they are very suspect as provocateurs.
Just the one - it never occurred to me to create more than that. Getting too involved in any kind of social media is generally a bad idea, and I think creating multiple nyms for a site is one sign of getting too involved.
