Was then-FBI chief Jim Comey spying on his boss, Attorney General Loretta Lynch? He apparently had a “highly placed informant” in her office reporting on her doings as of May 2016, which is pretty darn close to “spying” in most books.

We know: Comey famously considers it an “investigation,” not “spying,” when it’s official FBI business — but it’s hard to see how secretly monitoring the AG’s office could be official work for the Bureau.

And secretly monitoring Lynch is exactly what the new book from Pulitzer-winning reporter James B. Stewart indicates Comey was doing.

McALLEN, TEXAS (Border Report) — Crickets were literally heard chirping Wednesday inside the empty Humanitarian Respite Center run by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley to help migrants.

“A month and a half ago we had this place filled with people and families, almost close to 1,000 every single day and so it was amazing. And then those numbers almost completely dropped to single digits, and the most we get is 20 families sometimes but very rarely,” she said.

Mark Zaid, an attorney for the anti-Trump whistleblower, threatened to use his clients’ intelligence capabilities to dox a random Twitter user who irritated him. The user, who went by “Rex,” has now been suspended from Twitter.

Zaid tweeted:

Hey ‘Rex’, why don’t you revel your identity instead of attacking someone while hiding? I’d love to have my intelligence and law enforcement clients see what they can find about your life. We can compare notes on our research efforts. What do you say? Game?
