The destructive power of 40 tons of laser-guided bombs dropped by the US Air Force on what it termed an 'ISIS infested island' in Iraq has been captured by satellite images. Before and after photos of Qanus Island, which sits in the middle of the Tigris River in central Iraq clearly show how much of the island's lush, green foliage was burnt to a cinder after American forces using F-15 and F-35 jets essentially carpet bombed the small strip of land. The mission targeted the island after intelligence was received that the location was used as a hiding place for jihadi fighters.

Qanus Island.”
What’s with Arabs wanting us to spell words in English with a Q with no U after? It’s like Chicoms and “Xi”. You would think they were leftists.
Wait...
They ARE leftists!
Cool video here:
Now THAT is a counter terrorism strategy one can get behind. Don’t stop there....raqqa, dabiq, medina, some nice round-up for afghanistan (twofer), and maybe some leaflets for tehran.
Islam needs a reformation before it can be even considered for entry into the adult conversations.
.02, YMMV
KYPD
I watched the video and noted the widely dispersed destruction.
However, I have watched much WW II footage and noted that the population survived.
The Isis infrastructure was destroyed but were the fanatics actually killed? Why was there no followup with antipersonell ordanance?
Yep. I looked at the plane and you are spot on. They very well could have been on the outside depending.
Thank you
So drop the Q and whadda ya got?
That’s the way to do it.
WOW , nice pattern
Nuke it from space, it’s the only way to be sure.
They bombed Q Anon Island?
ISIS infested island? Where are all the Democrats screaming racism at that description?
They could have dialed up a single B1-B from Diego Garcia and gotten a similar result — but tanker support might have made that more expensive, I don’t know.
Did the island tip over and capsize?
Nowhere to run to, baby, nowhere to hide
More fun to use Apache chain guns and FLIR in the dark against personnel moving about.
Well, there is this thing called triple-A that the BUFF is a whole lot more vulnerable to, and a buncha smaller aircraft can put the ordnance down considerably more precisely, with fewer bombs going off target.
But I will defer the knowledge you evidently possess in excess of those that actually planned and executed this action.
Once again, a UK paper got an aviation term wrong. No matter how many fighter bombers carry no matter how many bombs, the term ‘carpet bombing’ was the direct, and only, use by those who fly the beloved American Boeing B-52!!! Nobody does it better!!
