Epstein, 66, was being held in the special housing unit of the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City and was supposed to be being checked on every 30 minutes per the jails procedure but he wasnt. He was also supposed to have a cellmate. But a person who had been assigned to share a cell with Epstein was transferred on Friday, and for reasons that investigators are still exploring he did not receive a new cellmate, the person familiar with the matter said Sunday night. That left Epstein, who had previously been placed on suicide watch, alone and unmonitored at least in the hours before his death by even those officers assigned to guard him, the Washington Post reports. Epsteins cellmate prior to his most recent one was a hulking ex-cop, Nicholas Tartaglione, who has been charged with murdering four men in a cocaine conspiracy. Epstein is said to have feared him and the former Briarcliffe Manor cop was questioned following the pedophiles previous suicide attempt in July which the financier said was actually an attack on his life.

Any House Dems seconding A-O-C’s call for “lots of answers” ?
This whole thing sounds filthier and filthier by the day.
Arkancide has been pandemic for years. Maybe the CDC should do some medical studies to determine if it’s due to global warming. /SARC
The Coincidence Theorists are going to have a hard time with this whole thing.
“So, there I was in the apple orchard — I took down 1 apple and put it in my bag. Then I reached up and took down a second apple and put it in my bag. Imagine my shock and surprise when I looked down and saw 2 apples in my bag. I was appalled. I promise a thorough investigation to find out how this could have happened.”
jesus, think it through. if epstein had a cell mate, that cell mate would have prevented him from hanging himself.
have any of you junior G-men ever thought that if the ominous powers that be really wanted the guy dead, it would have been a hell of a lot easier to whack him before he got arrested — when he was out in the open?
and, yes, of course “they” had to have “known” that he was getting arrested; anyone powerful enough to infiltrate a federal facility and kill a guy that was locked in a cell would have absolutely known that he was about to be arrested.
They literally had him in a cell with murderous muscle bond freak. An ex-cop who would hate pedos. I wonder if he was raped.
what, to death?
Convenient.
Cell mate Stabby Stabber McStabben was replaced by new cell mate Hangie Lynch McNoose while the monster pedophile was taken off suicide watch...
9’ high cell ceiling. No cell bars. Nothing to connect a noose to.
Will he return from the “dead” to testify?
> it would have been a hell of a lot easier to whack him before he got arrested when he was out in the open? <
True that. But then no way could it be ruled a suicide. If Epstein had been shot down in the street, there would have been a serious, ongoing investigation. But now, its a suicide. A few guards will get punished. Case closed.
So, the cellmate was removed to give him the privacy he needed for a suicide?
Sounds far-fetched to me.

And a rope with noose accidently left in his cell.
A lengthy investigation shouldn't be necessary, as any orders to move this guy would be in the Fed's data system. And there would be a paper order to accompany any move. We could not remove any inmate from the facility without being in possession of a copy of his original incarceration order, as it proved he was legally remanded to State custody. It, and the transfer order were the most important things to have in your possession when transporting inmates. And any internal moves also had to be documented, as it was imperative that an inmate's specific cell, unit, and bed number were accurately recorded, especially for counting purposes, which occurred throughout the day.
it would have been a hell of a lot easier to fake an accident in the free world than in a federal prison.
So, did the lack of a cellmate lead to him taking his own life? Or was the cellmate moved to facilitate his insurance.
Either way, we probably won’t know...and he is still dead.
