If you know an update is going to happen or are gong to force it earlier, go to the task master and end the process on your Chrome right before it happens. After the update is complete, you open Chrome and you will get a restore option. All your previously opened windows will return.

Also I have 7 windows open each with 35-80 tabs open on each one of them and 1 incognito window open with 20-30 tabs. I lose the incognito window every time, but I know this will happen. With the forced updates by Windows, I pick a time to let them do it in the 30+ days I’m allowed before they do them without my permission and close my Chrome via the task manager and then every one of them will return asap when I use the restore option in Chrome with the exception of the incognito window.
