At one time California had passed a law that if someone had a pension or retirement account that they had earned while living and working in California, they still had to pay California taxes on the distributions if they moved to another State. Thankfully that was shot down by DOL and IRS.

When I moved to Texas from California, the truck cost twice as much as it would have if I was going the other way. It was because UHaul had so few trucks, no one was moving to California. Then when I went to get my TX license, I didnt realize my CA license had just expired. They told me I could renew my CA license online, then just trade it in. If I didnt want to take the tests. I told them if I did that CA would just want to charge me more taxes. The woman said that’s not the first time she’s heard that.

awe thanks hon.. just getting back from my home. “moving back” there tomorrow. My stay at Jens was always a short term temp arrangement.
