“Yeah, you heard that right: unlimited,” Trump gloated to the press. “The Mexicans wanted it to be one bowl of chips per customer and $1.25 for each bowl after that, but I said no way. All the chips and salsa we can eat, or I walk.”

Too Funny

Biden promises he’ll cure cancer if elected president

by Joseph Simonson | June 11, 2019 02:26 PM

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/biden-promises-hell-cure-cancer-if-elected-president

FTA:
Joe Biden told an audience in Ottumwa, Iowa Tuesday that his White House would “cure” cancer should he beat President Trump in 2020.

“I’ve worked so hard in my career, that I promise you, if I’m elected president you’re gonna see single most important thing that changes America, we’re gonna cure cancer,” Biden said to applause.

It was posted by our young republican county office holders. They often head over to the local Mexican restaurant after meetings. (Their salsa is out of this world good). Everyone in town is enjoying the joke as the restaurant is a favorite in our community. ( all county office holders are republicans)

By my count, 5 minutes ahead of start time, there are about 250 people seated and positioned along a rope line for after Biden’s speech. For comparison, Harris had 300 people at a restaurant 24 hours ago in Dubuque and Warren had 250 at an event Sunday evening in Waterloo.

Trump appeared at this same venue in January 2016 - obviously much closer to the caucuses, which are still eight months away. But then, he drew almost 2,000 people - about 9 times the size of Biden’s crowd today:

There are, meanwhile, about 50 members of the press here, which has created a dynamic of a bunch of people in the line being interviewed several times

Subject: In-town Pool Report No. 1

Good morning from the White House, where all is quiet ahead of President Trump’s 12:15pm departure for Iowa.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders gaggled on the driveway earlier this morning. She hit back at former Vice President Joe Biden in anticipation of a speech he is set to deliver in Iowa this afternoon and also talked about the president’s get-well call to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler last month.

Nadler was mentioned in one of the president’s many tweets this morning.

Subject: In-town Pool Report No. 3 — Departure/gaggle

POTUS exited the Oval alone at 12:34pm. He is still taking questions from pool.

Highlights so far below. Fuller transcript TK.

On Biden: “I heard Biden was a loser. I mean look, Joe never got more than 1%. It looks like he’s failing, it looks like his friends from the left are going to overtake him very soon.”

“When a man has to mention my name 76 times in his speech, that means he’s in trouble. He’s a different guy. He acts different than he used to. He looks different than he used to.”

“I’d rather run against, I think, Biden than anybody. I think he’s the weakest mentally and I think Joe is weak mentally. The others have much more energy.”

“I call him 1% Joe because until Obama came along he didn’t do very well.”

On North Korea: “I think North Korea under [Kim’s] leadership has tremendous potential.”

Potus said he received a “beautiful” “very warm” letter from Kim Jong Un.

“We have a very good relationship together... I think they something will happen, but in the meantime we have our hostages back. The remains lee coming back. We have a very good relationship.”

He said a meeting could happen again soon, but “In the meantime he’s kept his word... that’s very important to me.”

On Mexico: Potus took a piece of paper out of his breast pocket and said it’s his deal with Mexico. He declined to show it to us, but said it will go into effect when Mexico tells him it’s okay to release it.

“That’s the agreement that everybody says I don’t have. I’m going to let mexico do the announcement at the right time.”

“This is one page of a very long and very good agreement from Mexico and the United States. Wthout the tariffs, we would have had nothing.”

“For a long time, for many years, people tried to get what we got in a period of many days. They’re moving right now 6,000 soldiers to their southern border. You think they had that two weeks ago? Two weeks ago, I’ll tell you what we had: we had nothing.”

Subject: WH out of town pool #1

Trump arrived at JBA at 1:08 pm.

He waved to reporters as he walked toward the plane’s staircase.

Accompanying the president on the plane are Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa and Sen. Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Andrew Wheeler and Bill Wareham of the EPA. Ernst, Fischer, Wheeler and Wareham briefly spotted by the press cabin to say hello before POTUS arrived.

Staffers spotted boarding the plane include Emma Doyle, Scavino, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

FYI: George Stephanopoulos is also flying on AF1 to Iowa (sitting in one of the front cabins). He declined to say why he was making the trip. A WH official said he is scheduled to interview POTUS and that the interview should air on Sunday.

Wheels up for Iowa shortly at 1:12pm.

Subject: In-town Pool Report No. 4 – More from departure remarks

Marine One lifted off at 1pm after POTUS spoke to pool for approximately 20 minutes. He was followed onto the helo by Sarah Sanders, Dan Scavino and Emma Doyle.

Asked about his trip to Iowa this afternoon, POTUS said he’s “the best thing that has happened to the farmers.” He referenced his administration’s efforts to lift restrictions on ethanol in gasoline, saying, “We gave them ethanol, which nobody was ever going to do, which Biden didn’t do in eight years as vice president.”
He ignored questions about whether he instructed staff to lie about his poll numbers. Instead, he responded: “My poll numbers are great. The amazing thing is all I do is get hit by this phony witch hunt.”

On Pelosi/Democrats: “Nancy is a mess... they are guilty of many, many crimes. All they do is waste time where there is no obstruction, no collusion. And in the meantime, we can’t get anything done. We need them to work on illegal immigration, on drug prices, on infrastructure.”

“Pelosi attacked me. She made a horrible statement that I’m sure she wished she didn’t make... while I was with the Queen of England, while I was with the president of France, and you’re not supposed to do that, OK?”

POTUS declined to say if Mexico, as part of their agreement with his administration, will become a safe third country for asylum seekers. “I don’t want to say and you can just figure it out yourselves. A lot of people are saying that – good luck. I’m not going to say one way or another.”

On China, he said he and President Xi Jinping still have a “very good” relationship, but that both leaders are firmly representing their countries. “I think that China, I can tell you China would like to make a deal very badly.”

He also mentioned Biden comments about China. “Joe Biden thought China was not a competitor of ours. Joe Biden is a dummy. China made $500 billion over a short period of time against Obama, Biden. China is a major competitor and right now China wants to make a deal very badly. It’s me right now that’s holding up a deal.”

Finally, POTUS was asked about the status of Patrick Shanahan’s nomination for Defense secretary. He repeatedly said he already nominated him after reporters asked why Shanahan’s nomination hasn’t been submitted to the Senate.
