A US Army soldier from Brooklyn is warning tourists to avoid a hotspot in Greece, saying he and his friends were ripped off to the tune of $937 for a light beachside lunch in Mykonos
...including the calamari that topped $662 alone.
Reached Friday for comment, reps for the restaurant confirmed that the prices were indeed correct.

If you want to get ripped off then save the airfare and go to New York or San Francisco.

I thought Greece had a Socialist government. Only applies to citizens, not to tourists.

If the prices were on the menu they have nothing to complain about.
If the prices weren't on the menu it's generally an indication to the people who eat there, price doesn't matter. They're willing to pay top prices without question.
Unless you're wealthy never eat at a restaurant that doesn't list the price of each item.

I’d tell that Greek where to stick his bill! Show me the dishes.
To: DUMBGRUNT
If you are an American and you can not see a menu with prices then be very careful.
6 plates of calamari at $100 each. 6 local beers for over $150.
insane.
Perhaps locals are charged a lower price?

Ywah? Try Auto zone for standard, last century tail lighr/ front directionals. I bought 2 two packs of each...11.00 per bulb. I’ll never buy another damn thing at autoxone.

The unsatisfied soldier said staffers at the restaurant on the southern end of the Greek island near Platis Yialos Beach refused to provide a menu with prices before he and his friends placed their orders, including the calamari that topped $662 alone. Gee, what was your first clue? I have eaten in Mykonos a few times. Never paid more than 20 Euro for lunch.

Read the article.

Ironically I did the same thing last night. WM has the same standard H1 bulbs for $4-5 bucks. Is Autozone based in Mykonos?
To: Liz
Man, I thought you get ripped off for seafood in Louisiana! I don't get it, its FREE in the water! Fishermen get pennies for their catch, and the markets and restaurants charge $$$.Nothing you can do to a shrimp, or fish, or calamari can justify what is put on a plate. A few squiggles of 25 cents worth of sauce? If you pay for 'view' its even more ludicrous. That is free too.
He's right, slam'em!
