Ya paid for the view!
Opa!
Were the prices not on the menu?
If you want to get ripped off then save the airfare and go to New York or San Francisco.
How much ouzo did they drink.

Mykonos is crazy expensive. Dont go there if you are on a budget.
If the prices weren't on the menu it's generally an indication to the people who eat there, price doesn't matter. They're willing to pay top prices without question.
Unless you're wealthy never eat at a restaurant that doesn't list the price of each item.
I’d tell that Greek where to stick his bill! Show me the dishes.
If you are an American and you can not see a menu with prices then be very careful.
6 plates of calamari at $100 each. 6 local beers for over $150.
insane.
Perhaps locals are charged a lower price?
Ywah? Try Auto zone for standard, last century tail lighr/ front directionals. I bought 2 two packs of each...11.00 per bulb. I’ll never buy another damn thing at autoxone.
Gee, what was your first clue? I have eaten in Mykonos a few times. Never paid more than 20 Euro for lunch.
I recall back in the 60s while homeported in Yokosuka, when the Carrier Group would come in the prices would rise...I mean the prices of EVERYTHING.
The fleet is in had significance.
Of course ‘just plain old price gouging’ would be handled by place being put ‘off limits’ and in certain instances a ‘dungaree liberty’ may be involved.
Nothing helps an economy better than an R&R being ‘allowed’ when the serviceman is coming from ‘Indian country’ with a pocket full of back pay.
So, in a respect, the occasional vist of a bird farm and her escorts would raise the price for the few days they may be there BUT would also help to keep the prices down after they were gone.
The locals were not so dumb as to run off their ‘regular’ customers while taking advantage of increased numbers.
One would think the ‘boy from Brooklyn’ would have enough street smarts to realize the game of no prices - even when the menu says ‘catch of the day or steak cut of the day varies, check with server’ as a frequent visitor to ‘dens of eniquity’ would realize a red flag being raised.
The old saying ...If you HAVE to ask how much it is, chances are you can’t afford it... fits.
3 caesar chicken @ 59.40
6 KA AMAPI @ 591.00
6 local beer meta H @ 150.00
2 NEPO @ 17.80
1 AMITA NTOMATA @ 18.00
If the last 3 items are drinks (beginning at the beer), it looks like there were nine people eating.
Should have puked it back up and tell them it was off!
Did they leave a tip?
When you're in the Third World, you always ask the price of a service, be it a cab ride, a shoe shine, or a meal at a restaurant before you accept it.
