Absolutely LOVE it. When a smile is needed we must repost it again and again. Use it against them!
Worked on terraced hill planting pumpkins and sunflowers. Went back to get more planting soil out of wagon The ground is muddied than it appears, slid all the way down one terrace step. Nothing major hurt. Scrapped arm and will have a bruise on BUMP tomorrow. LOL Wish I had a video.
Those few packets of seeds are in! X Check
Who knew that gardening could be so dangerous.
Be careful out there.
POTUS has made it acceptable to laugh at our foes. Not to let them get under the skin. The memes are fabulous. Did I send you the one on FB where BHO ranks at five for best president? Actually laughed out loud at that one!
A little work inside: Load of laundry in. Last of the spring decorations in storage containers. Love checking off the list on a Saturday. Only a bit more to do in garden then will be caught up there. Better working outside in morning and evening.
Feet are up and thinking about a sammich.
Never get caught up because I’m a big behinder
Lol! Second picture. For a minute there I thought President Trump was next to a wax figure of President Reagan. Do I need to get my glasses changed?

POTUS and FLOTUS shook hands with the greeters along a red carpet at the base of the AF1 steps, then quickly entered the Beast.
Motorcade rolling on what is expected to be about a 10 minutes drive.

After speedy 20 min drive the motorcade arrived at the US ambassadors tranquil residence. Pool seated in a large, traditionally decorated room where guests are seated at five round tables. They and we are awaiting POTUS, whom we were not able to see exiting the motorcade.

White House passes on this information (all there is for now) on the much discussed trophy that President Trump will hand out at tomorrow’s sumo tournament.
From a senior White House official: “Its about 54in and weighs 60-70lbs, is called the Presidents Cup. “

POTUS finished his speech after 15 minutes at 6:20 pm local. He stayed in to do a meet and greet with the Japanese executives (see pool report 10 for list), while pool holds in vans.
I am having connection problems and am unable to send what was meant to have been a quick and fairly long list of quotes. Apologies. So here are a few hastily retyped ones and I will add more ASAP:
We walk off the plane and here we are along with probably 40 of the greatest business leaders in the world.
You really have some people who have just been incredible, incredible investors in our country.
(The relationship) has never been stronger, has never been more powerful, has never been closer. This is an exciting time for commerce between the two countries that we both love.
(In trade) Japan has had a substantial advantage for many, many years, but thats OK, maybe thats why you like us so much.
(After a bilateral deal is sealed it will be ) a little bit more fair.
Subject: travel pool report 12 - lid and a correction
Motorcade departed the ambassador’s residence at 5:52 pm, direction the president’s hotel in the capital, arriving at 6:01 pm. White House called a lid.
Thanks to my pool colleagues and the WH wranglers for help and company on the long trip from Washington. Apologies for delays - have had various comms problems.
Will send fuller quotes from Trump’s address very shortly.
Also a correction: the ninth quote in the list I already send should read ‘’edge’’ instead of ‘’advantage.’’ Here is the full quote corrected:
“Japan has had a substantial edge for many, many years, but that’s OK, maybe that’s why you like us so much.”

Fuller quotes and details from POTUS address to business executives earlier (with thanks to input from co-pooler Ashley Parker of the WaPost).
Before Trump came in the room, US Ambassador Hagerty had everyone open a small gift a drinking glass and urged them to use it after the presidents departure to step outside and celebrate with a small afterglow, and celebrate the arrival of the president of the United States for the first state visit of the Reiwa era. (There was a Jack Daniels bar outside)
Trump then praised Hagerty, saying: “you really have strengthened the enduring alliance between the United States and Japan, very special. And the relationship I have with Prime Minister Abe is very special.”
“we just walk off the plane and here we are, along with probably 40 of the greatest business leaders in the world”
The first lady and I are thrilled be with you as we celebrate Japans Reiwa era, a very special time This evening were delighted by joined by Ambassador Lighthizer. Wheres Bob? Hes been very busy, negotiating deals and doing a fantastic job.
“Also in the room tonight are dozens of (inaudible) represenatives from the American and Japanese communities —the greatest businessmen and women in the world. You really have some people that have just been incredible, incredible investors in our country.”
He then thanked spouses for being there: “without the spouses it doesn’t work. That we will all admit.”
“The relationship with Japan and the United States I can say for a fact has never been stronger, never been more powerful, never been closer. This is a very exciting time for commerce between the two countries that we both love.”
“You’re doing fanatically well. I was looking very closely on the ride over at some of the numbers being produced in Japan and you’re doing great”
“As you know the United States and Japan are hard at work negotiating a bilateral trade agreement that will benefit both of our countries”
“Japan has had a substantial advantage for many, many years, but that’s OK, maybe that’s why you like us so much”
(from now it will be) “a little bit more fair, I think.”
“We also have a tremendous relationship on the military and Japan is ordering a great deal of military equipment. We make the best military equipment in the world, the best jets, the best missiles, the best rockets, the best everything, so Japan is doing very large orders and we appreciate that. It’s probably appropriate right now with everything that’s going on. The world is changing.”
“With this deal we hope to address the trade imbalance, remove the barriers to United States exports and ensure fairness and repricocity in our relationship. we’re getting close.”
“we hope to have several further announcements soon and some very big ones over the next few months.”
Were also here, as you know, for a very special occasion, not having to do with trade, we all know about that.
(about self-driving cars):
And last month, SoftBank [inaudible] joined Toyota in announcing a $1 billion investment to help Uber develop self-driving cars and technology. Self driving cars are becoming a bigger and bigger thing. It’s the future. You say it’s the future I’m OK with it (laughter). It seems very strange when you look over and theres no one behind the car going 60 mph. When you say it, Im good with it.
“If you join in seizing the incredible opportunities now before us in terms of investing to the United States, I think you’re going to see tremendous return on your investments.”
“I think right now we probably have the best relationship with Japan we’ve ever had.”
Subject: travel pool report 12 - time correction
apologies: departure from ambassador’s residence was at 6:52 pm local and arrival at the president’s hotel was 7:01 pm.
