Will you be busy at the Legion all Memorial Weekend?

We will be going to the cemetery on Monday to honor and clean the graves of our beloved.

Many great memories of “Decoration Day,” which the old folks always called it, picking flowers with Grandma, arranging them in large tinfoil covered juice cans and visiting cemeteries to honor our loved ones.

Always included a family dinner and get together with lots of stories of those who had passed on.

Decoration Day is what I remember, also. As a youngsters I went with Gramp to place flags on graves in all the cemeteries in our County. Gramp did it for 60 years.

Oh yes, thank you for the memories! You brought my grandmother back to mind immediately. Decoration Day, Independence Day, Armistice Day ... back when we celebrated Washington’s birthday. We always took the trip back to visit the graves.
