My time for hosting Survivor threads is over. I was only supposed to be a temporary replacement. I have long overstayed my time and I need to move on. Someone else needs to take over.
Please step up and take over.
Thank you. :)
All good things must come to an end thank you.
If you want to be added to or removed from this ping list, please let me know.
Or we can just ignore Survivor, never watch the show. 8>)
Not to be a wiseacre, but what is ‘Survivor’? We cut the cable and went off-grid with various wifi services a while ago. I wouldn’t know a cable show if it bit me in the tuchus, beyond the stuff I already log into.
Good thing I don’t own a TV.
When I first heard about Survivor I thought it was an incredibly stupid concept and I skipped the first two seasons. However a friend of mine suggested that I should watch it it so my wife and I started watching it in the third season, ironically thought of one of the worst seasons. Nonetheless we found it entertaining and we continued to watch it over the years.
It’s entertainment!
Maybe this could’ve/should’ve been a ping, to a designated ping list, ON A designated SURVIVOR THREAD.
Let’s see if this thread ‘survives’.
Good grief.
I’ve watched it before, to me it is a waste of time. But thanks.
Perhaps basic courtesy is needed?

Yes, basic courtesy would be nice.
Like not abusing the main forum, for a thread issue.
Thanks for posting that reminder. ;-)
Ever since the first Survivor winner turned out to be gay, I realized this series was actually a veiled attempt of social programming with a Lord-of-the-Flies angle that I never bought into.
I love The Amazing Race which I believe is produced by the same people since there seems to be a lot of cross-marketing between the two (this season’s TAR actually pits “all-star” teams from Survivor, Big Brother and past seasons of TAR where nauseating egotism and exhibitionism seem to collide for explosive entertainment), and even TAR started becoming preachy on social justice causes, but TAR has two things over the other reality creations. They have breath-taking scenes of beautiful nature from all over the world (at least the places where they won’t be killed) and the show is, at its heart, a competition where you can win even though unpopular by simply not coming in last.
Put simply, nobody can vote you off the island or out of the house. There have been once or twice where lesser teams have decided to gang up on a front-runner and have them eliminated but they typically don’t happen unless the unpopular team isn’t strong enough to survive it.
I think this will be TAR’s last or next-to-last season having milked the concept for all its worth. All those reality shows needed to have already died by now. It’s almost 2020 so it’s time for a new fad to take over.
Whats the Survivor?
...............................
I think it was the people that survived a airline crash and had to keep a machine running on a island.
I still miss the old South Park threads, but their time had come, too.
Is Survivor even still on?
Say wha...?
Survivor is not a cable show. It’s a network broadcast show.
1 gay guy out of 38 winners.
