It’s all downhill from 27, new research reveals.

At least if you’re a millennial, chronic conditions and diseases start to rear their heads in your late-20s, and from there things continue to deteriorate, according to a new Blue Cross/Blue Shield report.

Millennials as a generation are in overall poorer health than their predecessors, Gen X-ers, with higher rates of depression, hyperactivity, substance misuse, type 2 diabetes and Crohn’s disease, among other chronic conditions.

The report authors warn that the healthcare community needs to be aware that millennials are facing growing and perhaps unprecedented health concerns that could cost them years of life and cost the US economy money and productivity. […]

When the researchers narrowed their focus to older millennials, ages 34-36, they found higher rates of nearly all of the top 10 most common conditions than were seen in generation X at the same ages — despite the fact that 83 percent of millennials think they are in “good” or “excellent” health. …

The article erroneously mentions HealthCare community, not prevention.

They are doomed.

Perhaps if they didn’t spend every day playing video games in their mom’s basements, they might be a bit healthier.

A lot of newer houses don’t have basements, so it’s usually the attic bedroom. (Imagine them trying to do that in the crawl space.)

“biking....kids no longer doing physical chores like mowing grass, raking leaves, shoveling snow, or even taking out the trash.”

I agree with your general observations but those are the EXACT things my four kids (grandkids) have been busy doing to help out the last few months.

Wait till all the Boomers, and the people who have been keeping the lights on for decades are GONE.

They'll be doubly shocked when they learn there's no inheritance to live off of.

We're getting ready to do a cash out refi to completely remodel our house, plus take some money to travel for a few years. Won't be much left for the kiddos after that, though there'll still be close to $100K in equity.

They shouldn't hold their breath. I just turned 65 and pretty good shape...I'm not ready to turn the reins over to them just yet.

Thank you very much...I appreciate that...

Several days ago, there was a thread in here that said some people did not like to be thanked for their service...

The way we were treated when we returned from that SE Asia “garden spot” makes me appreciate being thanked today...

I thank servicemen and women, firefighters and police whenever I see them... To me, it’s just the right thing to do...

Your planners are pushing you all into the congested, concrete city, crammed into closet apartments, always renting, riding electric trams, waiting for buses, TV, metal furniture, no trees, no grass ...

restricting your movements,

sick, sick, sick. Inhumane.

This is an announcement from Genetic Control
"It is my sad duty to inform you of a four foot restriction on Humanoid height"

I hear the directors of Genetic Control
have been buying all the Properties
that have recently been sold,
taking risks oh so bold
It's said now that people will be shorter in height
They can fit twice as many in the same building site
They say it's alright
Beginning with the tenants of the town of Harlow
In the interest of humanity, they've been told they must go
Told they must go-go-go-go

Used to be electric trolleys were symbolic of capitalism. Then the left screamed “anti-trust” and replaced them all with buses, originally run by smaller private companies but then all taken over by the cities and/or states they operated in. And now the left starts building trolleys at ten times the cost they ought to be to build them.

Playing cowboys and indians is best done after dark. Having to go in that soon would make us all surly.

“...I’m not ready to turn the reins over to them just yet.”

Well, that means they have time to figure out what W O R K is and how to accomplish something for themselves, before it’s too late.

Funny they picked that age, 27, year after they no longer qualify for their parent insurance plans. It’s as if the researchers want to extend cocerage...

Under Obamacare, health insurance plans who cover children must cover adult children until the age of 26. Thus the choice of 27. When I just did a quick research of this, it said that children may stay on the parents' plan even if they are married and not living with the parents.

The sissy "Hipster" millennials would never touch something as normal as that. They eat and drink all kinds of weird "organic", "Vegan" crap.

Some typical "Hipster" jerks...
