From a southern drawl to a Boston twang, there is no shortage of accents in the United States of America. But no accent is alike - and neither is their sex appeal. Now a new survey has ranked the sexiest and least sexiest accents in America, revealing whether the country prefers the sounds of Mark Wahlberg or the Jersey Shore cast. While Texas and Boston reigned supreme, the likes of Snooki and The Situation would be sad to learn that New Jersey accents ranked almost dead last in the survey by Big 7 Travel.

Southern Ohioan???? What kind of accent is that? Silly me, Ive never been.able to pick them out from Northern Ohioan.....which come to think of it, is awfully hard to distinguish from much of the rest of the Midwest other than maybe rural Minnesota.

This poll is ridiculous crap. Most of these accents dont exist or are indistinguishable from the broader regional accents.

I have noticed that around the country, he news anchors do not usually have a local accent. Now, the weather guy or gal, that’s a different story.
I was called out in NY for having a California accent. I asked how they knew. They said Californians speak in a sing-songy way.

I've been gone since 72 or 3 and I still have my accent .... not as pronounced, but it's there.
I've read aloud many times and there are always comments about my accent and I'm never aware of it.
It's just there.
If a native Bostonian speaks in what you call clear English, he or she worked at developing that.

Yes, or they sound fake to me. The best one I have heard is Kyra Sedgwick, Brenda Leigh Johnson, on The Closer.
It's a very hard accent to duplicate.

The Air Force requested that I live in TX, MS, MA, and Germany so I became multi-lingual.

I think all of the Southern states have their own version of the Southern accent. They are similar enough that most people that don’t live here would not notice but I can tell them apart. Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi all have a slight difference but Tennessee and Texas sound similar to me.
Mrs. Buckeye’s parents are from a remote corner of the U.P. of Michigan. She was raised with an accent that spanned the gap between Canadian and Sarah Palin.
I always found it to be sexy, eh?
