From a southern drawl to a Boston twang, there is no shortage of accents in the United States of America. But no accent is alike - and neither is their sex appeal. Now a new survey has ranked the sexiest and least sexiest accents in America, revealing whether the country prefers the sounds of Mark Wahlberg or the Jersey Shore cast. While Texas and Boston reigned supreme, the likes of Snooki and The Situation would be sad to learn that New Jersey accents ranked almost dead last in the survey by Big 7 Travel.

Someone wrote that the rise of the Boston accent was because Irish parents were inebriated most of the time and the drunken manner of speaking in the household was passed on to their offspring.

I am disappointed that we don’t hear more of our accents on television and in movies. Seems that often, when they are, they’re relegated to Boss Hogg types.
The nation has been invaded by lefties and the trend, as a society, is to do stupid stuff like that.
Fortunately the election of President Trump has initiated a wave of political (and hopefully a resulting socially) momentum and could very well return our heritage in statuary.

I moved from Boston to TX and I am always hearing “I love your accent!
I would hazard a guess that Congregational congregants are Brahmin descendants who would innately abhor the “Boston accent”.

I live in currently Marxist NY. I will eventually move to ‘America’. Don’t know where yet. It will not be anywhere in the NE, that’s for sure.

Now that I think about it, I can’t recall the last time I heard an enemediot newsreader anywhere with any kind of regional accent. The enemedia must be biased. Go figure.

Was there last month when a friend of mine, who grew up off of Cummings Highway, came back from Seattle for a visit.
Sad to report that the Boston accent no longer predominates Rozzie Square.

We were wakened with the toppling of Confederate statuary and now we're bemoaning the loss of a colloquial accent.

I can't remember saying "There's where ..."
I DO remember saying, "___________ ust'a be there .... n' over there was ..."
Fortunately my old houses were still there.
I’m a NBT (native born Texan) and am proud of my accent. However, I have lived and traveled over a good bit of the world and have noticed that my accent has emulsified (I’m 74) over the years. It would be interesting to know where in Texas the sample was taken for the “Texas Accent” as Texas is a large state and as such has several regional accents within an umbrella Texas accent. I have to say though, being that the population of Texas has doubled over the past twenty years or so and throw into the mix of tv, internet, social media and so on the rural “howdy, where abouts y’all from” accent has all but disappeared. Anyway, y’all come see us, you hear? Lol....
