TV Guide's picks for the very best shows from five decades of television history.

That was Frank “Yeeeeeees?” Nelson. Also often appeared on Lucy and Sandford & Son.
Hush - Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Throwing in my favorite episodes of all time,it's amazing how much work William Shatner did before Star Trek.
Twilight Zone: Nightmare at 20,000 feet. Shatner seeing the gremlin on the wing.
Almost everyone forgets Thriller, which was a horror rip off of Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock. My favorite episode of that was "The Hungry Glass," where Shatner and his wife buy an old house on a sea cliff, and ghosts in the mirrors steal souls and pull them into the mirrors.
FWIW, looking back, I think the Bob Newhart Show (original) holds up better than Mary Tyler Moore. Not a specific episode, but they used to have these sequences where they would go into theme restaurants, and they were so real and so funny.
Having Start TRek TNG rank above ALL the original series Star Treks disqualifies this list from being taken seriously. I would put the Tribble episode in the list. For Burns and Allen, I would include the Kleebob episode. For the Honeymooners, “Better Living through Television” (aka “Can it core a apple?”).
“Fall Out” from the Prisoner is “great” only in a delphic way. Most unsatisfying for most who watched the series.
Really? Penske was involved?
LOL I went to the Chinese place the other day and thought of Lloyd Braun, there is chewing gum all over the concrete outside, and I thought were can I get a deal on that Chinese gum?
I settled for Schezuan chicken and noodles, eggroll, hot/sour soup...
Guy yells Cartwright!!
Just damn
Had IMDb used its own user rankings that Lucy Show would have made #1 and Turkeys Away #2 all time.
All in the Family — Sammy’s Visit.
Excuse me, but I think you need to take a closer look at TNG's Counselor Troi.
I was comparing a current series to The Rifleman, not as a best of first five decades. Sorry for confusing you.
He is Penske material!
Did you take anybody’s eggroll?
Yes, the string of poloponies.
Howling Man was brilliant...the devils convincing arguments were subtle and deceptive...but the producers had to change the staff that the monk used to corral the devil to the “staff of truth”...it was supposed to be something like “the word of God”...didnt want to be tooo real...the play on the word “monsters” is great...the real monsters were the townspeople...
No you didnt confuse me. Just my pre coffe rudeness
Blue Bloods was a very good show in the first few seasons. Jennifer Esposito added way mot to that show than they appreciated or they would not have let her go
The writing is now tired as they have fhaier audience
What they could have done with it is a lot
They should have had more friends and extended family guest appearances taking formula crime solving episodes and expanding on relationships
They do too much social commentary. We dont want it.
The great one, Carney was a riot too.
I said to the line folks....Did everyone see the Lucy Chocolate episode? Everyone smiled.
And so it began....I put the envelope down....and everyone followed my lead. The line was going faster and faster.
All of a sudden....the belt stopped and a VERY loud buzzer went off and we could see the huge backup ahead of us.
Our halos stayed in place. What a team. Soooo fun that day.
Interesting. I know I’ve seen more than a few of these episodes. However, only 3 stand out that I can remember - the two MASH episodes and the WKRP in Cincinnati “Turkey” episode. I could almost claim to remember the Miami Vice episode but really, they all kind of blend together. ;-)
The most memorable Gleason show for me
was the night the turntable they had
the various sets on jammed. It took
a while to fix it, so Jackie had to
stand on stage and vamp the whole
time, puffing away at smokes and
sweating bullets.
Troy is one of the reasons the show is inferior. Having a walking mood ring on the bridge with the captain only diminishes Picard. Wesley Crusher, a bad Will Robinson knockoff should have gotten the capital punishment due him when he didnt keep off the grass. THAT would have been the best TNG episode.
