Just posted picture of first daffodils on FB. So beautiful

Dad always recited this poem when I brought him first bouquet. He had memorized it when he was ten.

Daffodils

I WANDER’D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Beautiful poem! What a treat to hear your dear Dad recite it to you, upon your presenting him with a sweet bouquet. Funny...how we seem to always remember poems/songs we learn, as children.

I’ve always loved the sight of long lines of daffodils. That poem describes my thoughts about them, exactly.

I’m not the biggest Mexican food fan, but when I do fajitas at home I do flour torillias -—guess you refer to them as “bread”? I put some oil in a pan and when it gets hot I put the tortilla in and it starts to puff up. I turn it over and it’ll becomes puffy and crispy. The inside is cooked. Then I take it out, put the fajitas filling in it and fold it over like a taco. Sooooo good. I think it only works with flour and not corn tortillas. I don’t like corn tortillas anyway. .

Have thousand or more. In woods, by the pond, along the lane, a few tucked here and a few there. Gift from my parents. I’d buy a few new bulbs with birthday money each year and after a few years dig and devide. My dad loved them. My mother loved anything that bloomed. If it bloomed it was a flower. If it didn’t bloom it was a weed.

Have to admit. It brings the tears now when I read it. Such a wonderful memory. So many bouquets through the years.
