When Omar met Erdogan: The unearthed report from their 2017 meeting

....About a year and a half ago, on Sept. 18, 2017, a relatively unknown Minnesota state representative flew to New York City to hold a closed-door meeting with the president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was in town for the 72nd U.N. General Assembly. This meeting of now-Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., with Mr. Erdogan, the despotic ruler of Turkey, went almost entirely unreported, as it was not open to the press and Omar was not a high-profile figure. Since then, photos of the meeting surfaced on social media, but it largely appeared that there was no report detailing what happened during the hour-long meeting.....

Subject: Travel pool report #3 — Hogan speaks

Hogan Gidley stopped by the library to chat with reporters briefly. He confirmed that the president golfed today with three other people, but declined to name them. He also didn’t know whether the president played nine or 18 holes, but said he caught up with POTUS on the back nine.

Asked about the president’s mood, Gidley said, “He’s good.” He declined to say whether the president talked about his thoughts about the Mueller investigation on the golf course, insisting he didn’t want to divulge details of POTUS’ conversations.

Gidley didn’t have any information about whether the White House has learned anything more about the contents of Mueller’s report. Gidley said he’s on his way to Mar-a-Lago to get more information.

As for Trump’s plans for the rest of the day: Gidley said they’re still finalizing POTUS’ plans and he promised to report back.

At 2:20 pm, the press vans peeled off from the motorcade, which entered Mar-a-Lago.

Your pooler did not spot POTUS.

It was another uneventful motorcade. Along the way, we passed a group of a few dozen Trump supporters cheering and waving signs. One sign said: “Trump is better than Reagan.”

Press is holding in a parking lot next to Mar-a-Lago.

Hogan Gidley just called to say that press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ statement from last night in which she said the White House had not been briefed on the Mueller report “still stands.”

For your reference, here’s Sarah’s statement from yesterday:

“The next steps are up to Attorney General Barr, and we look forward to the process taking its course. The White House has not received or been briefed on the Special Counsel’s report.” Sarah Sanders
