Lori Loughlin has just committed career suicide.
Her alleged involvement in the seamy Varsity Blues college admissions criminal scandal has forever tarnished her reputation as the folksy face of Hallmark Channel and its vanilla-sweet TV movie franchises When Calls the Heart and Garage Sale Mystery.
Shes been a cash cow for the cable network with her top-rated movies, but shes on notice now. Dont be shocked when Hallmark Channel casts her aside, dealing a death blow to Loughlins career.
Her fall from grace sounds like the plot of a weepy Hallmark Channel movie that no one would believe, but its all too real. In her fictional, TV alter-ego universe, Loughlin bounces back, stronger than ever and ready to take on the world.
In reality? That wont happen.

Much more to that story:
She was ordered to pay $30,000. When she refused, she was sentenced to prison (?). But, she ended up serving only 10 days in jail (not 3 years). Then she was given 2-3 years probation (depending on which article you read).
Here’s the rest of the story:
Her crime was that she listed her father’s address as her children’s address so that her children could attend the schools in his district.
That grandfather was charged too, and he ended up losing his house and dying in prison! :-0
Info from here:
Well said! I watch Hallmark because it is “clean” entertainment. When Calls the Heart has gone a bit ridiculous with the LL character, as it is. But, this could end the show.
Bring Jack back! lol
Oh my!
What a catch!
This should go viral. Absolutely.
Anyway to connect this to the ongoing project here at FR related to people sleeping and people awakening? I think you’ve got a channel into the information stream I don’t have.
This is a meme of note.
I agree. I think that's because Loughlin is an executive producer on the show. Supposedly she got rid of the Pastor Frank character because "Abigail is a strong woman who doesn't need a man." The Abigail character is a totally perfect superwoman, and that's no doubt due to LL.
“heads of schools or whomever was part or looked the other way in allowing this should all be out of jobs and all pension or benefits severed too.”
You had better add in all the “rich alumni” who are also behind this directly or indirectly. And just think how much tougher this scam would have been to pull off if these “schools” didn’t have “athletic programs.” College “athletics” are something that also needs to go with all of the associated payola. Here in Berkeley at my alma mater, UC, the highest paid employee on campus is the “Athletic Director.” Why, because he brings in all the TV revenue. Again, it’s all about money.
Our youngest daughter passed on USC and ended up a another $hit hole school, Boston University. The practice rooms for the music students were a rabbit warren of prefab, rat-infested metal rooms in the basement of a closed auto dealership on Commonwealth Avenue, while at the same time the university was spending millions on “opulent housing” for their athletes. They even had the temerity to ask us for a substantial donation but they would not permit us to designate where the money would be spent. “Higher Education” in this country should be shut down in its present form.
Does anyone expect her to make movies when she is in prison?
The bank might call Abigail’s loan but what become of Cody?
“thats what I hope will happen - heads of schools or whomever was part or looked the other way in allowing this should all be out of jobs and all pension or benefits severed too.”
I realize it would all be wasted by our Feral Govt, but maybe these schools can lose all of that endowment money through RICO.
Wouldn’t that be sweet!
“It’s not a particularly heinous crime Loughlin is accused of.”
Possibly. But I can’t help but wonder about the kids who could’ve been accepted who actually worked their asses off to achieve the grades, but were passed over to admit these brats. Doesn’t seem right.
Lori Loughlin donations to GOP:
$2,700 to the Marco Rubio senate campaign (via Mossimo Giannulli)
$5,000 to Romney Victory in 2012 (via Mossimo Giannulli)
Have read that she’s a Never-Trumper, though. Not sure about that.
My wife watches Hallmark because she likes movies and shows that are not overly tense. Hallmark produces the lightest-weight entertainment out there.
I think it amusing that that they are trying to make Loughlin, her husband and two or three others the face of this. This crap goes way beyond then and is as I said before, nothing new, Pappa Joe paid for Teddy to get into school and for all his test to be taken for him. Hell he paid to make JFK president and no one cried about that!
As long as there have been parents with tons of cash there have been parents who used that cash to buy their children success.
The clay feet of advertising and its associated supporting infrastructure was first clearly exposed in early 1973. One of the early Ivory Snow photo moms was Marilyn Chambers.
In 1972 she was the female “lead” in the porno movie “Behind the Green Door.” She was fired about a year later. But in 1980 a 1070s’ Ivory Snow soap box with her picture on it made a “guest appearance’ in the porno movie “Insatiable”. (Thanks Wikipedia”.
What makes you think that todays actors and Hollywood in general is any better?
Yes, I read she supported the GOP. Tough for her because it means she will be punished worse than the others who I believe are all democrat. Felicity Huffman certainly is who I wouldn’t doubt will get probation while Lori gets 20 years.
Agreed. Still, I do enjoy Hallmark-type movies sometimes. They serve as escapism for many of us - an escape from the Rated-R world. With that said, I probably wouldn't want to watch a show about murder.
And this college scam story reminds us all that these people are paid to pretend. It's difficult to ignore what they do in real life when watching them act.
Orange is the New Christmas
LOL.
This will be a blow for Hallmark Christmas movies, I feel like she’s in a lot of them.
But they’ll still have Candice Cameron Bure....
I DON’T.
I don’t think she is in the regular Hallmark movies. More the mystery ones and When Calls the Heart. Perhaps she is in a few but the majority are other actresses. I like them because they are G rated and, while totally unrealistic, a Harlequin Romance sort of escape.
