Temperatures To Decrease 0.5°C-0.7°C Due To Low Sunspots, Solar Minimum.
Published on December 29, 2017 Written by Kenneth Richard
During 2017, 120 papers linking historical and modern climate change to variations in solar activity and its modulators (clouds, cosmic rays) have been published in scientific journals.
It has been increasingly established that low solar activity (fewer sunspots) and increased cloud cover (as modulated by cosmic rays) are highly associated with a cooling climate.
In recent years, the Earth has unfortunately left a period of very high solar activity, the Modern Grand Maximum. Periods of high solar activity correspond to multi-decadal- to centennial-scale warming.
Solar scientists are now increasingly forecasting a period of very low activity that will commence in the next few years (by around 2020 to 2025). This will lead to climate cooling, even Little Ice Age conditions.
“Whats the answer to global cooling?
A Green New Deal!”
EXACTLY!!
The Marxists/Morlocks will start using global cooling if it becomes popular.
They could care less if the climate is warming or cooling; they only want to control us.
“Its not AGW, its the weather. The weather is controlled primarily by the sun any nitwit who thinks that human beings can affect the weather more than the sun has a degree in sociology, political science or sustainability.”
Their IS a Greenhouse Effect created by Co2. EVERYONE (including skeptics) on this: A doubling of atmospheric Co2 will cause 1C of warming +-.3 of a degree.
There is NO argument from ANYONE (of note) regarding that. And EVERYONE (including warmists) agree, that amount of warming would probably be BENEFICIAL to mankind.
BUT: The warmists have tagged on an additional 3C to that number. Calling this imaginary warming “feedbacks”. They say the AC02 will cause a “net positive feedback of 3C”.
There’s no real evidence this will happen (modeled), there’s little or no evidence the sum of the feedbacks will be positive.
There IS evidence that the feedbacks are, or will be a net negative:
Warmer air over the Antarctic is causing more snowfall, more snowfall is leading to larger Antarctic glaciers (Zwally 2018 Mass Gains of Ant. ice sheet Exceed Losses)
A similar negative feedback exists in the Arctic:
“A warmer atmosphere can hold more moisture and as the interior of the NH continents cool in fall, this can lead to increased snowfall... more extensive fall snow cover contributed to the extreme negative AO observed during the winter of 20092010.” Cohen 2012
Now the warmists expected the tropical tropopause “hotspot” to negate all these negative feedbacks, but as far as I know, and despite tens of thousands of radiosonde balloons, and all satellite data, no “hotspot” (net positive feedback) has been found.
So yes there’s a GHE from CO2, but the net results probably won’t be “4C of warming by 2100”.
At some point it will warm up again. Only question is will we survive till then??
That and what if it happens quickly and freezes everything at once. I mean it hey E found mastodons frozen to death with dinner still in their mouth
Go back to the Newsweek article from the 70’s on global cooling and the proposed solutions are remarkably similar to what’s proposed today for “AGW”.
Stopping use of fossil fuels, more taxes, more centralized government control....
Told my students this but everyone else blindly followed Al Gore ('cuz he had the Simpson's).
I've read that everything 45° North and above is going to be snowbound year round. We're at 32° North, which causes me to think we'll still have four distinct seasons.
Winters are mild at this latitude. I figure the worst that will happen, is North Texas will get snow every year. We'll still be able to grow crops, thank goodness.
I've seen that factoid stated in many places. This is one of the primary reasons folks need to get off their duffs and prepare now.
If you need any motivation to get in gear, listen to David Dubyne on the Adapt 2030 YouTube channel. He's got solid, factual data that will stand your hair on end.
And the Japanese are about to clone a mammoth! maybe they knew something!
:)
As Ned Stark would say “Winter is Coming!”
Someone needs to post a pic of him. I don’t know how its done on FR.
The human race will survive it, but these may be the last warm days you and I will ever see.
45 isn’t very far south in a way ...
Long way from Odessa ;-)
And more rain last night!
Thanks fieldmarshaldj.

More evidence that global warming is a hoax, and the major factor in changes is Sun activity.
The more things change...
We went through this BS back in the 70s.
This confirms what I’ve been telling people for 2 or 3 years. I started to look into it because it just didn’t make sense. Obama saying “hottest year evah” and I was seeing temps like 102°F for the hottest day of the year, while 104° was a more normal high fir the year, and 105° not unheard of. In 1998, I saw 106° to 108° here in my yard. Now, I Haven’t seen anything over 102V or 103° in at least 10 years, but the ‘sky is falling” crowd says the oceans are boiling away...
So I started to check into it and found Mr John Casey, who has been predicting this for at least 5 years now. He wrote 2 books, “Dark Winter” and “Cold Summer” and produced a video documentary that I saw aired on Newsmax a few times, and I also found a couple of good interviews on youtube a while back. List of credentials long as your arm, head guy for NOAA for several years, head climate advisor for NASA for years, etc etc...and pretty smart too...
And nothing in these studies [in post #4] about the deeper implications.
*** Crop failures and famines.
*** Increased geological activity
*** political upheaval
*** potential widespread wars
All of these have been noted in previous solar minimums. George Washington at Valley forge freezing, troops dying from the cold, Napoleon’s failed attempt at taking over Europe, both during the same Solar minimum.
Crop failures caused widespread famines, wars resulted in some cases because the common citizens (and government actually) didn’t understand what was really happening, citizens blamed it on incompetent government and revolted...but no matter who to blame, crops failed due to changes in growth patterns, and people died of starvation.
Wars occurred for the same reasons, nobody understood the real causes, blamed governments, and either they revolted or people like Napoleon decided to take advantage of the widespread unrest and take over the entire continent...
Geological activity - Notice lately all the earthquakes and volcanoes? especially around the Pacific “Ring of Fire”? more and more frequent geological activity has been well documented during solar minimums. We can see it starting already.
Most of the studies in post #4 say this will be starting around 2020...guess what? That’s this coming winter! It ain’t the distant future any more. John Casey has been trying to warn people for at least 3 or 4 years that I know of, very few are listening. I’ve posted comments about it every time I have a chance, and hope I can get a few people to realize it’s a problem to be prepared for.
Look at the long term trends and stop listening to politicians for your ideas about climate. The past 5 winters have been especially harsh. Record snowfall, record low temperatures. Wyoming just saw the longest, coldest weather in recent history. (or was it Montana...) Serious cold spell all the way to here in Texas this winter, the arctic cold was able to come this far south. I saw lows of 24° here, highly unusual. I think lower than that, I didn’t feel like going outside to check...
5 years ago, we got 3 inches of snow here, stayed on the ground for a week. Usually it’s more like an inch, gone by dark, maybe a few small patches the next day where it stayed in the shade all day.
I think it was 2014/2015 winter, Atlanta freeway froze over, thousands of cars stranded for a week, never happened before.
Record snowfall all over the northeast the past 2 winters, record low temps this year, cold spells earlier than usual, still snowing later than usual...
John Casey predicted all this. These articles do not surprise me at all [in post #4].
Forget the sunscreen, better go get a parka...and learn how to grow a garden...get some Coleman lanterns and candles, or kerosene lamps, (I need to find more kerosene too), stock up on ammo and seeds, find a place to get decent water and keep some chlorine bleach around to purify it with, making some jerky might not be a bad idea either. Jerky will store longer than anything frozen, especially when the grid goes down...get a hand or horse drawn plow, or stock up on plenty gas for your tiller...
It’s not gonna be pretty when this digs in its heels folks...
The top graph is some version of total solar irradiation above the atmosphere expressed in watts per square meter. Historically, this averages around 1365 watts per square meter, but like many measurements surrounding climate “science”, we keep changing the way we calculate and measure it.
The next graph is “Sunspot Number”, which is a roughly calculated count of sunspots, where sunspot groups are counted as 10, then added to the individual sunspot count.
Could be
We had over 30-inches since February and our average daily temps are approximately 20 degree less than normal for February and now into March.
All I know is it’s way to friggin cold. It was only 16 degree at my house in Eastern Washington on Monday overnight. I’m going to hate to see my power bill
YIKES! That’s why I went with the averaging plan with NVenergy. At least I know what it will be every month for all 4 seasons. ;-)
Is this some kind of flashback?
