This confirms what I’ve been telling people for 2 or 3 years. I started to look into it because it just didn’t make sense. Obama saying “hottest year evah” and I was seeing temps like 102°F for the hottest day of the year, while 104° was a more normal high fir the year, and 105° not unheard of. In 1998, I saw 106° to 108° here in my yard. Now, I Haven’t seen anything over 102V or 103° in at least 10 years, but the ‘sky is falling” crowd says the oceans are boiling away...

So I started to check into it and found Mr John Casey, who has been predicting this for at least 5 years now. He wrote 2 books, “Dark Winter” and “Cold Summer” and produced a video documentary that I saw aired on Newsmax a few times, and I also found a couple of good interviews on youtube a while back. List of credentials long as your arm, head guy for NOAA for several years, head climate advisor for NASA for years, etc etc...and pretty smart too...

And nothing in these studies [in post #4] about the deeper implications.

*** Crop failures and famines.
*** Increased geological activity
*** political upheaval
*** potential widespread wars

All of these have been noted in previous solar minimums. George Washington at Valley forge freezing, troops dying from the cold, Napoleon’s failed attempt at taking over Europe, both during the same Solar minimum.

Crop failures caused widespread famines, wars resulted in some cases because the common citizens (and government actually) didn’t understand what was really happening, citizens blamed it on incompetent government and revolted...but no matter who to blame, crops failed due to changes in growth patterns, and people died of starvation.

Wars occurred for the same reasons, nobody understood the real causes, blamed governments, and either they revolted or people like Napoleon decided to take advantage of the widespread unrest and take over the entire continent...

Geological activity - Notice lately all the earthquakes and volcanoes? especially around the Pacific “Ring of Fire”? more and more frequent geological activity has been well documented during solar minimums. We can see it starting already.

Most of the studies in post #4 say this will be starting around 2020...guess what? That’s this coming winter! It ain’t the distant future any more. John Casey has been trying to warn people for at least 3 or 4 years that I know of, very few are listening. I’ve posted comments about it every time I have a chance, and hope I can get a few people to realize it’s a problem to be prepared for.

Look at the long term trends and stop listening to politicians for your ideas about climate. The past 5 winters have been especially harsh. Record snowfall, record low temperatures. Wyoming just saw the longest, coldest weather in recent history. (or was it Montana...) Serious cold spell all the way to here in Texas this winter, the arctic cold was able to come this far south. I saw lows of 24° here, highly unusual. I think lower than that, I didn’t feel like going outside to check...

5 years ago, we got 3 inches of snow here, stayed on the ground for a week. Usually it’s more like an inch, gone by dark, maybe a few small patches the next day where it stayed in the shade all day.

I think it was 2014/2015 winter, Atlanta freeway froze over, thousands of cars stranded for a week, never happened before.

Record snowfall all over the northeast the past 2 winters, record low temps this year, cold spells earlier than usual, still snowing later than usual...

John Casey predicted all this. These articles do not surprise me at all [in post #4].

Forget the sunscreen, better go get a parka...and learn how to grow a garden...get some Coleman lanterns and candles, or kerosene lamps, (I need to find more kerosene too), stock up on ammo and seeds, find a place to get decent water and keep some chlorine bleach around to purify it with, making some jerky might not be a bad idea either. Jerky will store longer than anything frozen, especially when the grid goes down...get a hand or horse drawn plow, or stock up on plenty gas for your tiller...

It’s not gonna be pretty when this digs in its heels folks...

Yes, he did. Sadly, John Casey has passed, but his name will one day be well known.

Great post, by the way. You hit every major note, and then some.
