"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek revealed in a YouTube video Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Trebek said in the video he was given the health update this week.
"Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but Im going to fight this, and Im going to keep working," he said. "And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."

Prayers up.
That stinks. The odds of beating stage 4 pancreatic cancer is probably close to zero.
Beat it or not, he’s had a hell of a run...
I haven’t researched recent info. The number in my head says around 5% survival at one time.
God is mercifully giving him the opportunity to get his spiritual and physical house in order.
There’s no cancer in heaven, I pray Jesus heals him, but if he doesn’t make it through stage 4 I hope he gets to that better stage meant for each of us. I’ve lost too many people to cancer, thank you Jesus for preparing a place for them.
Damn.
I hope he gets lucky.
Lost one of my best friends in the world to pancreatic cancer. Could not eat and withered away to nothing. Tough to stand by and watch.
Prayers up for Alex and his family.
You are very close. When my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer I did some research. He was gone in less than 3 months. So many pancreatic cancers are not diagnosed until they’re already in stage 4.
Not sure how accurate but I just searched and info I found was median survival rate is 2-6 months. 5 year is 1%-3%. That could be wrong given the particulars of his case. He’s in a tough battle, no doubt.
Prayers up
Basically it’s a death sentence.
“For we are born owing death a life,
and he who dies this year is quit for the next.”
Shakespeare Henry V.
And then there are people like RBG...
Really tough news. A family member was a winner on Wheel of Fortune and a big game show try out nerd. He will take this hard.
He’s 78 and had some health problems but he looks and sounds good in the video. I wish him well.
What is, prayers up, Alex?
Wow, sad news. I have been DVRing and watching Jeopardy for the last couple of weeks.
