Backstory: I’ve always wanted to learn calligraphy so a few years ago I got a calligraphy how-to book and practiced about twice then put it away because, well, life....

Now that I’m slowing down and taking better care of myself while recovering I had a brainstorm, “Hey! Calligraphy isn’t exactly fast-paced! Look, a squirrel!”

So now that I’ve been practicing for a couple of weeks, I thought I’d add watercolor to my (not impressive) practice creations, so I ordered this:

They're building us a new bridge after October's flood. The lake authority has lowered the water level for repairs which you can see by the sandy shores and boathouses away from the water. Too bad they were too stupid to lower the level when they knew two weeks earlier that the flood waters were coming down.

These paint pads are MUCH faster and neater than using a brush or a roller. No spattering, as with rollers. Also, I could put the paint on thicker. (IIRC, I only put on one coat and it was enough.)

Do we want to invite other people to join our book study? I could ask people on that thread. They might not quite understand the concept of us doing it within another thread oh, but I’m sure they can figure it out. We just need to Ping each other whenever we talk about the book.

Well I’m moving my stuff when from one unremodeled room into the newly remodeled room. I opened up a box half full of books and found three more 1984 and two Animal Farm. I guess I really had been shopping and I didn’t even remember. I think I found those at a local library sale.

We used some of those for staining the deck. And I used a small one when I sealed the granite. Pretty neat things. The only thing I haven’t used them for is painting! It’s good to know they work well. I still need to finish the cabinets downstairs in the basement kitchen, so I might give them a try.
