RE: Voting and ballots-58,000 does seem to be a recurring number. I wonder why?

This post reminded me of something unusual that happened here even though totally unrelated. Our turnout here was so huge that we ran out of ballots. Some people waited in line for an hour or more only to be told that there were no ballots.

No one seems to know how this was handled or how many people were involved. Never heard of this in our county, but I think the turnout was because of the constitutional amendment to make medical wacky backy legal.
