Since I am not a movie watcher, pray tell what are the Bourne movies?

They are about a CIA assassin who lost his memory after being shot and jumping overboard from a yacht to escape (one of his “hits”). He comes to aboard a commercial (fishing?) boat, whose captain saved him. Once ashore, Jason Bourne begins the search for his identity.

I think in the third movie he finds out he was “programmed”. I’d like to not give you any spoilers, search “Jason Bourne”.

IMO, plot aside, I think the Bourne movies have some of the BEST car chase scenes I’ve ever watched.

Just for reference, the movies (exception of the latest) were based upon books written by Robert Ludlum during the 1980s. The first was published in 1980

We've discussed the topic of mind control and brain-washing in this thread before. As part of that discussion, I would like to put this out there to see if anyone can find a valid source. I've searched and do not feel comfortable in claiming it is an authentic quotation based upon what I've located.
