The Office of the National Security Council in a statement said National Security Adviser Dr. Hamdullah Mohib hailed the United States constructive role in facilitating peace talks with Taliban and Ambassador Khalilzad’s efforts in this regard.

NSA Mohib further added that a complete consensus exists in Afghanistan regarding peace and reconciliation in the country.

According to NSA Mohib, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have proven that they are capable of protecting the national values and interests of the country.

The statement by the National Security Council also added that acting defense and interior ministers Asadullah Khalid and Amrullah Saleh also shared information regarding the capabilities of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.

In his turn, Ambassador Khalilzad reassured that the government and peopel of the United States will remain alongside the Afghan people and government and will continue its efforts regarding peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.

In the end the two sides emphasized on coordiantion and mutual cooperation and continued efforts regarding peace in Afghanistan, the statement by the Office of the National Security Council added.
