Maison Hullibargers father tells the Detroit Free Press that he asked the priest to stop talking during the Dec. 8 funeral Mass. But Jeff Hullibarger says the Rev. Don LaCuesta continued giving a critical sermon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Temperance.
Hullibarger says some mourners left the church crying.
The archdiocese released a statement Thursday saying its sorry that an unbearable situation was made even more difficult. The archdiocese says LaCuesta will not preach at funerals for the foreseeable future.

1 John 5:13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Yes I do....but Roman Catholicism does not. He and Bathsheba would not be allowed Communion based on Roman Catholic dogma.
I understand the Roman Catholic doesn't like it when their true positions are exposed to the light of day.
And yes, all forms of suicide are morally wrong - bringing great heartache to the people left behind and endangering ones mortal soul (except in the case, of course, of mental illness). Sad to see you disagree.
You too are completely ignoring the promises of Christ and believing instead the false dogma of your denomination.
You're a sad sick person.
Not True.
He would have been allowed in a conceivable case, Sacramental confession covers forgiveness of sins and he would have had to have a valid marriage exchange of vows.
The reason why suicide is very bad is it ends a person’s chance to repent and change their heart in this life. The bible is littered with examples of repentance and how it is supremely important.
I’m not getting into bible quote wars, but you can find the phrases about pride and judgment yourself.
P.S. Before you start posting walls of spam, don’t bother, I don’t read your spam.
We teach, in fact, that NOBODY has the right to say "You are damned" or "He is damned" or "This guy (this named person) is in hell."
We have a right - in fact a duty --- to judge
But it is otherwise for judging persons as to their individual nner spiritual state.
We do not know the very heart of the person: only God does. Thus we may not say, with moral certainty as a dogmatic fact, that even Judas is in hell. He way well be. He put himself into grave moral peril. But we do not know whether he gasped with his last strangled breath, "I have sinned! Lord have mercy!"
But true, I DO tout the Company Line, and hope I always may. God's word, which will never pass away.
Thank you for your gracious response.
Not per Roman Catholicism....they would have had to remain abstinent so as not to "commit adultery".
The hyjinks Rome goes to in their dogmas.
A “traditional” Catholic priest would have at the forefront of his mind the saving of souls. His reasoning would have been along the lines of: “I must warn others against this type of behavior, and by doing so, may discourage someone from following the same path.”
However, in our modern society, and in this context, it was an ill-advised thing to do.
Did you forget that in David’s case Bethsheba’s husband was dead?
Matrimony is only for life, not forever. So it is perfectly possible for David to have had a valid exchange in the Catholic Church.
Yep.
We teach, in fact, that NOBODY has the right to say "You are damned" or "He is damned" or "This guy (this named person) is in hell."
Yet Rome does it all the time with their anathemas if people don't believe what Rome says they have to believe....which is often not in line with the New Testament.
But true, I DO tout the Company Line, and hope I always may. God's word, which will never pass away.
You do tout the "company line"....it's the part about God's word that is in question. See my tagline.
SCRIPTURE DOES NOT CHANGE! However, Roman Catholicism has, does, and will change.
Yeah...."killed" in battle at David's order.
Matrimony is only for life, not forever. So it is perfectly possible for David to have had a valid exchange in the Catholic Church.
A marriage from the murder of the spouse would be allowed in Roman Catholicism????????
It is amazing that you persist in telling Catholics what Catholics ought to believe, when your batting average on actually grasping Catholic doctrine is at near zero.
Please tell us what you believe.
But for the 347th time, do not tell us what we believe.
It is just tedious.
Thank you.
For a person who references scripture so much, you should have read the story of Uriah the Hittite. Its in 2 Samuel
Yet you posted to elsie twice and did read the posts!
Nope. Just repeating what I've heard Roman Catholics on these very forums preach.....you included.
It is amazing that you persist in telling Catholics what Catholics ought to believe, when your batting average on actually grasping Catholic doctrine is at near zero.
Again...just repeating what I read from your fellow Roman Catholics on these forums. Perhaps your issue is with what they believe.
But for the 347th time, do not tell us what we believe.
I can understand why the Roman Catholic doesn't like their dogmas thrown back at them. They see they are cold and heartless as in the case of this young man's situation.
We can tell Roman Catholics what they have to believe because your denomination has made it clear what ya'll believe.
I've found when confronted with these on a personal level the Roman Catholic, like a liberal, doesn't like it.
SCRIPTURE DOES NOT CHANGE! However, Roman Catholicism has, does, and will change.
I have.
Your point?
