In the late 50's early 60's that was the style. My mom made me one but not out of gunny sacks. I have a picture of me wearing it and now that I look at it, that dress was the ugliest thing ever.

Granny my grandpa used to make me dresses out of flour sacks. They had some wonderful patterns.

Maybe sanctuary states like CA would care a little more about having millions of illegals if they did not get any federal benefits from it. They now get rewarded with additional congressional seats, school lunch money, food stamps etc. Rewarding bad behavior is a guarantee of getting g more bad behavior.

And now that I read it, I was mistaken about my great aunts talking about making underwear out of flour sacks during the war, it must have been during the depression.

I can’t remember if they made dresses too but I bet they did, but you know how underwear would stick in my young mind.

I had heard about the flour companies upon realizing what the sacks were being used for started making them in more different patterns.

And wasn’t it nice that they used dye that would wash out for their logos and even added instructions, so nice.

Would this even happen today?

Yeah that’s a hard Catch-22, when you need to eat and drink and yet it makes you feel more sick. Do it anyway, hopefully you will keep something down
