In a word..."mixed". There was alot of US House "dead" GOPe Wood cleared out last night chief among it was "Speaker" Ryan and his ilk. Let face it the loss of the House really SUX, BUT we HAVE to get to work NOW on the 2020 Election! Get REALLY good solid candidates recruited NOW. The Dems WILL overplay their hands(they ALWAYS do) and they WILL be dumped in 2020! Silver lining, WE OWN the Senate!
I think we sometimes see what we want to see. I was convinced that the Republicans would keep the House. I thought there was great turnout, strong economy, etc. But I (and many people here on FR) were wrong.
I’m glad President Trump still has the Senate. This is good for his judicial nominations.
Yeah, my thought when I read about the sizes of Trump’s rally meaning we were gonna win were right.
Rally sizes don’t mean a DAMNED thing.
We’ve got a structural issues with the 18 to 29 vote is voting-wise they are barely above being able to tie their own shoelaces so we over 45 will need to turn out YUGE in 2020.
At least next election I can tell people who mention rallies to SHUT UP
At least the SC picks will go through the senate nice and easy.

Those things made the difference where they needed to.
George W Bush gained 1 Senate seat in 2002, Nixon gained 2 in 1970, Kennedy gained 4 in 1962 and Roosevelt gained 9 in 1934.
Otherwise, since the beginning of the Great Depression, it's always been Senate losses for the party in the White House.
To show you how weak the Democrat “wave” was this year, the GOP had two incumbents under indictment (Collins in NY and Hunter in CA) — and the BOTH won.
Yet those same 18-29 year olds KNOW THEIR TECH STUFF.

I think it is quickly getting close for the mods to give some of you people a vacation, especially that ZULU wuss.

If we switched the parties around, and in an alternate universe people here would be brushing off our “bare” 10 seat majority, and lamenting all of our big names losing or how all of the Rinos are going to make that majority useless.

I try to be objective about these things. I didn’t post much about it on FR but I figured there was a slim chance at best that the GOP would keep the House. I wasn’t even thinking about the historical trend in midterm elections, but the 40+ Republicans who were vacating their seats. It is so much harder to defend an open seat than an incumbent, and the math simply didn’t work in the GOP’s favor this year.
Stupid ingrate voters that are NOT citizens of this country!!!! I don’t know what can be done but I live in CA. and illegals are voting in droves AND nothing is ever done about it!!! I hope everyone can see what has happened to CA. and NOW how close we are to the rest of the country becoming CA. NV. is gone, AZ. is VERY CLOSE, NM, is gone, TX. is damned near being GONE!!!

Absolutely. The polls overwhelmingly had Cruz ahead by miles. Only fraud can explain a conservative coming this close to losing to an open Communist - in TEXAS.
Gov. Abbott had better follow through.
When all is said and done the President's greatest legacy will be in reshaping the judiciary.
It is hard to live like this but the hope of the republic hinges on one man - Trump. He is all we got.

Cruz was slow to counter that whole Beto marketing, and a lot of stupid people still held a grudge against him from 2016.
My thoughts; There’s no reason any of these races should’be been so close. GOP should’ve run away with wins by huge margins. It’s ridiculous, considering the state of America under Trump.
ZULU Trump did everything right HOWEVER our borders have been WIDE OPEN to long and this is the result illegals are voting in droves AND nothing is stopping them!!! Unless voting laws are STRONLY enforced our country is DONE sorry it is very disappointing but it is the way it is!!!!
We did clear out a lot of RINO dead wood...led by Paul Rino, himself. Talk about a pathetic “leader”. Just watch where he ends up, on K-Street.
The RATS will overplay their hand. They will waste the next two years with pathetic “investigations”, triggering a weekly ‘Constitutional Crisis”. They will be aided and abbetted by the MSM. In two years, both will be irrelevant.
With the increased control of the Senate, the weak sisters will be marginalized (Collins and Merkowski). Significant advances in the judiciary will happen. The DoJ and FBI are going to be seriously cleaned up. The WItchhunt will go away with a whimper.
I only hope that the RATS are unable to stall our economic recovery.
