NBC Cancels Megyn Kelly Today After Blackface Controversy, Sources Say

Megyn Kelly’s 9 a.m. Today show hour has been canceled, multiple sources confirm to PEOPLE.
The news comes just 48 hours after she received immense backlash for her controversial remarks about blackface earlier this week.
“They’re contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today. Everyone’s being told that they still have a home here, but it won’t be on Megyn’s show,” one source says. “They haven’t made an official announcement about the show, but everyone knows what it means when they’re being moved somewhere else. The show is clearly over.”
Two additional sources insist that Kelly has not been fired from NBC completely (and she herself has not been told the network’s final decision), but her 9 a.m. show “is most likely over.”

But I also cannot understand, if she walks away with $50,000,000 or more, WHY work? Why not stay home and be with your kids and family? She really has nothing to prove any more, as far as her “career” goes, IMHO.

I also suspect that a good bunch of the pet conservatives in the liberal media are in fact conservative. But being a conservative isn’t a paying gig. Being employed is. And staying employed at a liberal media corporation means toeing the liberal party line. You want to work in media - you play by their rules.

NBC has been looking for a reason to fire MeAgain for a while. The blackface thing was pretty thin gruel, but hey, NBC had to take what they could get.
