I almost went Dove hunting but decided to stay home and do a few things. Let's see, I gave my dog a bath, crushed aluminum cans, mowed my lawn and watered it, pulled a couple weeds, cleaned the driveway, and payed some bills.
Now that that's all done, I'm not relaxing and sipping on some Crown Royal.
Life's good.

FR’s weekly NFL thread is still there, with a disclaimer along the lines of “yeah some people hate us for still doing this, but...” I guess some FReepers also meet secretly to discuss their favorite Barack Obama speech, too...Who knows.
The NFL season: four games that don’t really mean anything followed by 16-20 games that don’t really mean anything.
It’s really not about who won but who TIED. Cleveland (who has still yet to win on Sunday in Hue Jackson’s entire coaching tenure) and Pittsburgh (who get the refs to win their close games for them unless it’s the Patriots) played to a 21-21 rain-soaked tie. In typical Browns fashion, Cleveland intercepted Roethlisburger and ran it back deep into Steeler territory only to watch the game-winning FG try get blocked.
Still, the Browns didn’t lose to start the season and the Steelers didn’t win, both of which were newsworthy.
You sure don’t see too many ties in football, since they instituted overtime many years ago.
Well, the Browns can say they snapped their losing streak.
The Cowboys protested Donald Trump by taking a knee all day.

Wish I could agree but I’m in KC and the Royals suck but the Chiefs looked great today.
Until recently it was nearly impossible to get near a Redskins ticket. Parents willed their seasons tickets to their children, seriously. How that has changed. This afternoon I saw a Groupon ad for Redskins tickets — no joke.
I hear half the teams won.

You heard wrong. Two tied.
The season for two teams didn’t start, the Brown’s stole a tie from the Steelers who must of tied their Nike shoe strings together an tripped up like the entire league.

I was about to post something witty until I realized - I completely forgot that professional football was even on today.
